Our moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas have always worked hard and been there for us - and now, as they continue to cope with the challenges of the pandemic, we... need to be there for them. I spoke about that with seniors from Magog, Quebec and Miramichi, New Brunswick today and let them know we’re going to help make their lives more affordable, more independent, and healthier. I told them how we’re going to increase Old Age Security by 10% for seniors 75 and up as of July 2022, and how that would give more than 3 million seniors greater financial security and put more money in their pockets. I also let them know we’re going to provide a one-time Old Age Security payment of $500 this August, for those 75 and up as of June 2022. We spoke about long-term care, too, and how we’re going to work with the provinces and territories to make sure standards are applied. And for seniors who want to live at home, I told them we’re going to help fund community organizations that can provide them with the support they need.
