Durham Children's Aid Foundation - DCAF has such a great way of looking at things! #allcurrencyaccepted
Dennis Ullman , Executive Director at Durham Children's Aid Foundation - DCAF knows the potential of collecting leftover foreign currency as a means of raising funds for charity. Expanding it to allow donors to mail in their donations means they can accept donations from anywhere ... even the other side of the country! With over $20 Million worth of leftover foreign currency in the Region, Dennis and DCAF are working hard to ensure that No Child Shall Be Left Behind. #allcurrencyaccepted #charity #fundraising #community
Hey, CityNews Toronto, you recently reported about "Canadian currency ranked ‘filthiest’ in the world". This report did not include any reference points. How about we talk about the FACT that while cash can be dirty, in every day use, people are NOT going to get sick by handling it. In fact, this is one thing we have learned since the pandemic hit ... CASH IS SAFE TO USE!... At Global Coin Solutions, we handle cash all day long, from countries all over the world ... and not once has anyone working here gotten sick because of it. To further back that up, the Bank of Canada, the World Health Organization, and Central Banks from around the world have all came out in defense of cash. It may get your hands dirty but it will not make you sick. How about we reinforce that with the public instead? https://www.cashmatters.org//faq-cash-is-safe-to-use-in-t/ https://www.bankofcanada.ca//bank-canada-asks-retailers-c/ https://currencyassociation.org//cash-is-safe-dont-be-mis/ Cash Matters Org Cash Essentials
We thought we would do something a little different this morning and share one of our charities partners and the work they are doing. Durham Children's Aid Foundation - DCAF is the first charity in North America to use a QR code combined with a custom mobile donation site to raise funds. https://durhamcaf.ca/ways-to-support/scan-to-donate/ #ContactlessFundraising... They also have the Currency For Kids program, collecting leftover foreign currency at different locations in the community. https://durhamcaf.ca/ways-to-support/currency-for-kids/ #allcurrencyaccepted DCAF - No Child Shall Be Left Behind
Every year, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) releases news about money left behind at security checkpoints in airports across the U.S. In fact, so much money has been left behind over the years that the TSA Loose Change Act was passed in 2013. While this is certainly a good use of the funds, we believe that an ACTIVE collection program for charity would be much more effective as evidenced by other airports around the world. In fact, we estimate that as much as... $100 Million could be collected annually throughout the U.S. that could support various charitable efforts. https://www.tsa.gov//passengers-left-more-900k-behind-tsa- SimpliFlying Simple Flying NBC News USA TODAY Washington Post TravelPulse CashEssentials
For decades, charities in the UK and airlines around the world have collected leftover foreign currency as a regular part of their fundraising efforts. Sadly, this is not the case in Canada or the U.S. Here, we only have a small number of airlines (4 to be exact) and a handful of charities who collect. By adding foreign currency to your "ways to donate" page, a charity can tap into Millions worth of leftover currency that is sitting around, collecting dust. Let's put it to w...ork and help worthy organizations help others! #allcurrencyaccepted https://cashessentials.org/foreign-currency-fundraising-ho/
We would like to thank our clients, our partners, our friends and family for sticking with us for the past 6 years. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. To our employees, both current and past, thank you! You have been the backbone of this company and have allowed us to grow into what we are today and who we dream to become tomorrow.
DYK? Anyone can collect leftover foreign currency for your favourite charity? Get your family, friends, neighbours, even co-workers involved. There is no need to sort what you collect. Simply contact our office and we'll do the rest ... we may even be able to arrange to pickup your collection. With over $2 Billion worth of leftover foreign currency in Canada alone, there is plenty to go 'round. ;-)... #allcurrencyaccepted See more
Travel may be down, but foreign currency donations are up! Working with Margaret E Wallis-Duffy, Better Together As ONE PLUS Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (with Julie Cripps Liddle), Furnace Room Brewery, Amica Georgetown PLUS Georgetown Bread Basket, Pat's Prime Cuts and Deli, and Uncorked on Main has been amazing! The passion shown by every single person in every single organization has been off the charts! Georgetown, dig out your leftover foreign currency to ...support ANY ONE of these worthy causes!! #allcurrencyaccepted
Our great partners are "popping up" everywhere today! ;-) Whether we have an early spring or not, one sad thing is true ... we won't be travelling any time soon. Why not gather up your leftover foreign currency and donate it to the Durham Children's Aid Foundation - DCAF to support local children and youth.... #allcurrencyaccepted
While we are very sad that we can't travel right now, we can do something that will make us feel a little better ... we can help others! Dig out your leftover foreign currency, those Pesos, Euros, British Pounds, (even American Dollars) that you were saving up to take with you when you travelled. By dropping them off at Currency Converters of Waterloo Inc. or one of the other supporting partners of March Of Dimes Canada, you can help fellow Canadians with disabilities. #allcurrencyaccepted
To all of the charities out there looking to get their word out, this is a great option.

Here is the 2nd part with our President, Scott Hutchings, speaking with Margaret E Wallis-Duffy about the Better Together As ONE program and our efforts to help not just Georgetown Bread Basket, but every charity looking for additional fundraising opportunities. By working with food bank supporters such as Pat's Prime Cuts and Deli and Uncorked on Main, the potential is not just to raise money, but also to drive additional traffic to the small businesses. Even in a small comm...unity like Georgetown, there is over $2 Million worth of foreign currency sitting around collecting dust. By donating it, you put staff to work at GCS, sorting, counting, and repatriating the currency; you may make a purchase at one of the businesses; and you ensure that your neighbours have the support they need so they don't go hungry. Everyone wins by recycling leftover foreign currency. Thank you to Claire Gavin, Chris Cox, and the team at Yourtv Halton / YourTV for your support and encouragement. Thank you to Pat Commisso and Mike Willis for offering their businesses as donation points. And last, but far from least, our heartfelt Thanks to the volunteers at Georgetown Bread Basket for their efforts to keep their community feed. #AllCurrencyAccepted https://youtu.be/5xJbv5wxHXE
Recently, our President, Scott Hutchings, spoke with Margaret and Claire from Better Together As ONE about a new program being launched with Georgetown Bread Basket. This is our first segment that is currently playing on YourTV. Since we recorded this, Pat's Prime Cuts and Deli and Uncorked on Main have stepped up to be collection points for all of your leftover foreign currency in support of the food bank.... If you are a charity looking for a new, unique way to fund raise or if you are a small business who wants to support a local charity, please let us know. There is more than enough foreign currency out there to go around. ;-) Not only that, but it will help us get our staff back to work. The #AllCurrencyAccepted program helps everyone! https://youtu.be/RfACIgEZUd8
We are honoured to be part of this incredible initiative! One of Margaret's favourite sayings is "Think Global, Act Local" and that is very clear this year by adding a foreign currency drive to the efforts spearheaded by her clinic Wallis for Wellness in partnership with her Better Together As ONE movement. Funds collected will support the Caring and Sharing campaign hosted by the incredible folks at NBUCchurch!... Even if you aren't a patient, please feel free to stop in and drop off your leftover foreign currency to help your neighbours. This launch could not have come on a better day than #WorldKindnessDay. #allcurrencyaccepted

Before you start enjoying this beautiful weekend we have coming up, while you are enjoying your coffee or tea in the morning, have a look in your jars or drawers or your travel bag, wherever you keep your leftover foreign currency and gather it up. Throw it into a baggie with your loose change. Let's all do a little to help the Georgetown Bread Basket with their fundraising effort! Then, stop by Pat's Prime Cuts and Deli to get dinner for the BBQ, or pop into Uncorked on Main for a drink (and stay for dinner) and bring your baggie with you and drop everything into the globe. Thanks for this initiative goes to the Better Together As ONE Main Street Matters campaign who brought everyone together. And special thanks to Margaret E Wallis-Duffy and Scott Hutchings for their passion and drive to pull everyone together!
