Today we lift up World Mental Health Day. We support the right to just and universal access for all to dignified, quality mental health care services. This year..., World Mental Health Day comes at a time when our lives have been impacted significantly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let us pray for all: for health-care workers, providing care in difficult circumstances, going to work fearful of bringing COVID-19 home with them; for students, adapting to taking classes from home, with little contact with teachers and friends, and anxious about their futures; for workers whose livelihoods are threatened; for the vast number of people caught in poverty or in fragile humanitarian settings with extremely limited protection from COVID-19; and for people with mental health conditions, many experiencing even greater social isolation than before. https://www.who.int//world-me/world-mental-health-day-2020

This weekend we made the difficult decision to begin transitioning We Care, a long-standing and beloved program of CLWR, away from shipping goods. Despite the ...sadness we feel in making this change, we are united in our confidence that this decision affirms our most deeply-held values of responsible stewardship, shared learning and honouring the voices of those we are called to serve.
