Glory Farm 08.06.2021

Trust you will all have a chance to stop at 11 today and remember that our freedoms came at a cost. In my family we have a long history of military service, starting with the first Medicraft to come to Nova Scotia in 1812 as a British soldier. My grandfather, uncles and Dad are all veterans as well, as am I. Glory Farm is a much appreciated place of peace and joy now to me, quite happy not to be back in Greenland, or Iceland or some other exotic local where I served. Enjoy the day, it's already been paid for, by better men and women than me. Craig

Glory Farm 26.04.2021

Ok, take two, the last post I was working on just disappeared. Anyway as I was trying to say, this week has been a real roller coaster and it's only Tuesday! Sunday was a great day, we opened our new church building for our first service. It's quite heartening to see what a small band of brothers and sisters can accomplish. Of course, we follow this up with snow, and a chaotic election down south, so down the roller coaster we go. However today is my Mom's birthday, so we are... back on the upswing, as we go and spend the day with her and Dad. I am sure everyone else is having a nice smooth boring week. Anyway, here is a list of what Glory Farm had to offer. In produce we have, salad mixes, kale, chard, spinach, cabbage, beets, cole slaw mix and maybe broccoli peeking out of the snow. We also have eggs, free range chicken, rabbit, as well as lentil, cabbage, green pea, curried squash/apple soups. We have chicken potpie, shepherds pie, and baked beans. Julie hopes to have veggie and regular lasagna as well. We have been blessed with friends and strangers alike visiting the farm the past two weeks, and we being to share some coffee time with them. Life indeed is good, and if you drop by here we would be happy to take time out of our day to visit with you. Except today........today is for Mom and she is not shy to let us know it. Take care all. Had to dispose of a skunk this morning that was bothering the hens, hence the first cartoon. It's a beautiful day for picking, just love my job some days. Hope to see you tomorrow's farmers market coming to you from the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, from 9-12. Rules are more stringent and we will have to wear a mask, and keep everyone moving as the number of people allowed onto the grounds at any one time will be controlled. If you are still coming to market after reading this, here is what we can bring to market this week. Eggs, chicken, pea soup, beans, and shepherds pie. For produce we will have spinach, salad mix, baby kale and arugula mix, beets, brussel sprouts, radish, kale, chard, cabbage, and parsley, and relish and pickles. Thanks to everyone who helped make our summer market a success. Sure didn't look that way in May.

A little nippy this morning, coming in from picking spinach and my fingers are numb, but my family is all healthy so what have I got to complain about..........not a thing. A quick reminder that our last farmers market at our summer location is tomorrow, hope many of you can come out. In case I forget, thanks for your support this crazy summer, we tried to keep the market as close to normal as we could, but the definition of normal went out the window this year. So, for market we will have, salad mix, spinach, cole slaw mix, a few beans and cukes, kale, chard, parsley, cabbage, brussel sprouts, beets, squash, carrots, and maybe potatoes if I get them dug up today. We will have frozen soups, beans, and meals, and also our chicken. Keep warm and fuzzy.......Craig

What a great day, not too hot or cold. Just came in from harvesting cabbages, and now for something completely different.............Moist, juicy, tasty chicken for Thanksgiving, instead of the usual dry, bland turkey. We have a some fresh and frozen chickens for sale. Non gmo fed and raised outside on fresh grass. Our birds had a good life and it reflects in the quality of the meat. $4 a pound, let us know if you would like to try something completely different......ok just a little bit different this Thanksgiving.

Well, a killer frost, followed by a tropical storm, good times had by all. Hope all of you have weathered the week ok, no complaints here on the farm. Have decided to start writing facebook posts again to let customers and friends know what is available from the farm. This week we have fresh chicken for sale, raised outside and fed GMO free feed. These birds have had a good life, and were not required at anytime to wear a mask. They are $4/lb, and are very tasty. Place your orders now for fresh or frozen for your winter supply. I will follow up with our vegetable selection later today. So stay dry and have a great day. Craig
