The holiday season is fast approaching and it goes without saying that 2020 has been a particularly difficult year for our entire community. This year the GSC Base and Resource coaches are encouraging everyone to donate to the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre (CRC) in lieu of gift-giving at the rink. The CRC is a local organization with a range of services to support the diverse needs of the Orleans-Cumberland area, with programs like the Foodbank, youth programs,... school supply programs, and many more. Please consider donating and supporting this "coach-led initiative" to give back to the community that has supported our skating club for 50 years. As we have been saying from the beginning of this pandemic - WE are stronger together! The CRC greatly appreciates any support you may be able to offer - every little bit helps families in need. Good day GSC skaters and families. We would like to follow up and share the following announcement from the City of Ottawa from today... With today’s announcement of new provincial restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19, team sports using City arenas will be limited to training and practices only with no scrimmages or competitive play similar to the restrictions experienced in stage two. ... Public skating and skating lessons are not impacted!!! Fall 2020 GSC sessions are a go. See you at the rink!

We are thrilled that the first official practice is underway! The 2021 Skate Ontario Sectional Championships is taking place in 6 hubs over the next week and a ...half.
