Evergreen Park School Library needs the community to rally together to rebuild the K-2 books damaged by the vandalism of broken windows at the school. We all know how important reading is for our children especially at a young age! Please help the school library rebuild! ... Greater Moncton women’s progress club will be donating $500. 00 to assist. If anyone can help by donating, gift cards or gently used K-2 reading picture books it would be greatly appreciated! See details below on how to donate. E-transfers are accepted! We are very pleased to announce that the chosen recipient of our Post Secondary $500.00 bursary is Astena Marsh! As always, we received numerous applications and the decision is always so difficult, as we would like to to assist so many women in our community with their education. Having said that, we unanimously were impressed with Astena. This fine young lady is a a graduate of Moncton High School. She had amazing results and came with stellar recommendations.... A couple of years ago she faced a significant health challenge and was hospitalized. Since then, she rose above and despite the many health challenges that she faces daily, learning and achieving her goals has been her forefront. Not only that but during her student life at MHS she helped tutor and mentor students in younger grades as a reading tutor for English Language Learners in her Human Services class. She also is involved in other community programs to help mentor others with health challenges and provided positive relatability to others in our community, all while advocating for her own home care and education. She is a very determined and intelligent young lady. With her excellent grades, drive for learning and to help others she will no doubt be very successful with her new endeavors at the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) Moncton. She will be enrolled in their Educational Assistant program for the Fall 2020 term! Astena we wish you the every success and a very bright future! Congratulations!
