For early May, the garlic is looking incredible! Goat and llama poop makes all the difference.
Free tickets available now for the Kingston Potters' Guild Spring Sale: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/kingston-potters-guild-spring-s My goal was to make 100 chicken mugs, so far I have made zero. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the studio for the next month.
Pardon the goat hollering, but enjoy some goat kid shenanigans. Eventually we'll build a goat playground but for now they seem happy with blown tractor tire + board. Nice dismount, Bob.
Rotational grazing is a hit so far! Although there is always at least one goat complaining about something.
There is no shortage of weird stuff unearthed on the farm with the arrival of spring. This doll arm with only a middle finger had me do a triple take as I moved the goat fence today. It was located near the 'boot dump' consisting mostly of eyelets and soles of boots from decades past.
The newly installed wood stove is blazing! The perfect place to dry a huge order of tiny ceramic chickens and the rare time that Benny will choose a dog bed over the couch. We are ready for winter now!
If you want to learn more about regenerative farming, you should watch the movie 'Sacred Cow'. It's free to stream tonight at sacredcow.info/watch. Using ruminants to regenerate land and close the input loop on the farm is really inspiring. Eat less meat, but eat better meat. From animals that have been raised as naturally and humanely as possible. We are taking orders for sides of pork and goat. All processed in the coming weeks at a federally inspected local abattoir, cut/wrapped and frozen. Please get in touch for more information. Shop direct from your farmer, satisfaction guaranteed!
I'm not shy of colour...or cramming as many pots as possible on a sale table! With only two days instead of the usual four, we're not holding back. Hopefully my table neighbour @odessa_project can balance things out with her very mod and beautiful monochrome pieces. Hope to see you all at the show!
Derek the llama is ready to head to the Kingston Potters' Guild show and sale this weekend. Keep an eye on the kpg website for free tickets, we're sold out but some tickets are popping up. This might not be my last pottery post, but I promise we'll get back to barnyard photos soon! #tettcentre #kingstonpottersguild #handmadellama
