YES! These two say it all! I thank them both for advocating and shedding light on our industry and this appalling way we’ve been minimized. No one has issue with a full lockdown - health and safety come first. But leaving malls open while personal services remain closed is unacceptable!

UPDATE! Since today’s announcement couldn’t answer why salons are being closed with no cases to date (the answer being because we can’t maintain 6 feet of distance) and it’s clear despite this inability to keep distance we have worked safely through use of PPE AND CLEANING PROTOCOLS - soooo no real reason for us to close. Yes we cannot maintain 6 feet - but that hasn’t resulted in transmission of covid in our businesses! (Again - malls will remain open - NON ESSENTIAL retai...l will remain open) 28 days from now numbers will have not come down since no real changes with this lockdown other than closing businesses where there is no issue and keeping open everything else. It’ll be longer than 28 days I’m sure. If you want to help, please visit: https://www.fairnessforwomen.ca So here is the rant: Doug Ford wants to once again lock down personal service businesses WHILE LEAVING NON ESSENTIAL RETAIL OPEN. Salons in Toronto have been closed since November and numbers have continued to rise since Ford eased restrictions, and continued to ease restrictions while numbers climbed. Clearly the spike in these regions was NOT due to salons since they have remained closed. We are professionals in PPE with extensive cleaning and sanitizing protocols, and we work ONE ON ONE. But the malls can be open, the big box stores for NON ESSENTIAL items. These businesses can offer online shopping options (we can’t), they can do curbside pick up (we can’t), fitness classes can be hosted on zoom (let’s think about how that DIY cut or colour may go). You can get a massage, go to the dentist, see the eye doctor - all essential. Our industry provides benefits for mental health. Our clients have time to relax, look good, feel good in this very difficult time. But here we go again. We have lost 7 months of work (in some regions more) and all that sacrifice and we are no better off?! BECAUSE COVID ISN’T spreading in salons with strict cleaning protocols and one on one service. Get your head out of your ass Ford! You want to lockdown? Then LOCK DOWN ALL NON ESSENTIAL SERVICES! Stop handpicking the little guys like it makes a difference while leaving huge money making machines open that draw larger crowds can’t keep up with the cleaning and can’t enforce PPE. The worse the spread gets the looser his lockdowns are. Remember last spring when we had like 300 cases and EVERYTHING was closed other than essential services? Now we have rapidly rising cases, larger numbers, variants of concern - but enjoy your trip to Winners while small businesses suffer because the decisions being made are a joke. If it’s necessary for public health and safety to lockdown - then lock it ALL down. If it’s safe for the malls to be open - then it’s definitely safe for us!

To all my beautiful goddesses, As you can imagine December is the most busiest month of the year for us stylists. With the announcement today about Durham moving into the red tier for covid, and possible lockdown forthcoming, please consider the following for pre-booked appointments. If you have booked an appointment at anytime in December and would like to move it up sooner kindly contact me. I will try my best to accommodate everyone. Your appointments can remain where ...they are, however there is a chance of cancellation IF Durham goes into lockdown. If you prefer not to roll the dice and get in sooner while the salon can remain open I am happy to accommodate any requests. This beautiful goddess chopped off all her long locks and we did a colour correction to transform her very dark hair and brassy highlights to a chocolate balayage (forgot the before pic )

Another big cut! This beautiful goddess wanted to get rid of all the weight and long hair to make it more manageable. We chopped it all into a layered inverted long bob and toned out some of the warmth left in her blonde hair while she transitions to her beautiful natural silver! Before and after!

Complete transformation and colour correction! This goddess wanted a total change! We filled in her bleached hair and did a chocolate base with plum balayage, and cut her locks into a long bob! Before and after!
