Congratulations to Jerry McDonnell! Jerry is a member of the Goderich Co Op Art Gallery and has held many positions at the Gallery. He is always first to volunteer to plan, organize and do things that need to be done. Jerry's Photography can be seen at the Co Op Gallery and by visiting the Gallery website @ https://www.gcgallery.ca Jerry has demonstrated his leadership as Chair of the Goderich and Area Community Committee, helping ensure the committee’s continued momentum o...ver the last few years. Previously, Jerry served as Board Chair for Huron United Way and participated in the successful merger of United Way Perth-Huron, following which he stayed on as a Board member. In each of his roles, Jerry brought important insights to the work of boards and committees, shared his expertise and guiding principles, donated generously and participated at the grassroots level including walking in Coldest Night of the Year for Goderich and area for the last two years. We thank Jerry for his time, energy, dedication and personal belief in the importance of helping his community through United Way. See more

Madeleine Roske has been a gallery member of long standing. Her work can be seen locally in many homes and public buildings. I paint with the intention of sharing the exuberance, complexity, humour and abundance of the world around me. My method is to paint with directness and yet try to retain the intangible quality that attracts my mind’s eye. https://www.gcgallery.ca/oil-painting/madeleine-roske/

COMING SOON...Gallery update, courtesy Judy Barker. ‘Keeping old folks off the streets and out of trouble...’ Apparently this is how CoOp member Laura Browne introduced her request for assistance to manager Devin Blake at Rona when she went to select paint for our recent renewal. Laura was a newbie when it came to painting walls, and although she is a talented artist, she needed a bit of help undertaking such a huge task. She was so very grateful to Devin and his helpful st...aff at Rona that as the work was coming to completion, she presented him with one of her original paintings. Yes, the Goderich CoOp Gallery has been closed since mid March, due to Covid-19, so we decided to use this time for a gallery renewal, our first since the tornado in 2011. While the gallery has been closed, our members have remained very loyal . As we re-open to visitors, you will find all your favourite member, and consignment artists, with new work hanging on freshly painted walls. Our very first special guests will be the long delayed EXPOSURE showing of art by talented community artists, which had originally been scheduled to open on April 1st. We are grateful to the many artists who decided to take a leap of faith, and leave their work at the Gallery for a later exposure to visitors. Members were not only painting the walls during our Covid shut-down, we were also issued a challenge during our time away, to produce 4 miniature 4x4 pieces of art. Most of the members took up the challenge, so you will also see our attempts to paint and photograph, and hook, and sew, and....all in miniature, showing on our feature wall. Even though these tiny pieces are wall mounted for display, just imagine the possibilities....a small easel display on a table....or..... Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions it is not possible to host opening receptions, or offer refreshments at this time. However, we look forward to your visits during our adjusted open times. NEW HOURS are Wednesdays through Saturdays,10:00am-3:00pm. You will find a member artist on duty to answer your inquiries, and assist with sales. There will be Covid-19 precautions in effect. A hand sanitizer will be at the foot of the stairs as you enter. All visitors are required to wear a mask, and to maintain a 6 foot distance. In addition, there will be restrictions on the numbers present in the gallery at any one time. However, behind the mask and plastic barrier, you will always find a friendly member artist to welcome you. We invite you to drop in, see our new look, and brand new art. Check out your friends' and neighbours' work at the Exposure show. We look forward to welcoming you at the Goderich CoOp Gallery, located at 54 Courthouse Square, lower level. Wednesday to Saturday, NEW HOURS 10:00am to 3:00pm
