Our next Home Group semester is starting January 13! We'll be meeting for 7 consecutive Wednesdays on Zoom, unless restrictions are lifted on January 8. This is a great way to find community and encouragement during these challenging times, and will also build and grow your faith.... We need to hear from you ASAP, so that we can start putting the groups together. Help us out by heading to mynewhope.ca/groups right now, and filling out the short response form.
We're so glad you're here for church! Because we are unable to attend live services at the moment, Church Online is a great way to join us to worship God, study the Bible, and pray. *We encourage you to watch this service together with us and our friends from New Hope Church. You can join us by going over to their website at newhopevancouver.online.church . We are encouraging everyone to watch the service with us there, as technical issues beyond our control may result in th...is feed on Facebook being removed or partially muted. We hope you are blessed by what you experience during this week's service as we gather together online to worship Jesus. ____________________________________________________ Learn more about the Gospel: mynewhope.ca/gospel Contact Us: [email protected] Past Messages: mynewhope.ca/messages ____________________________________________________ Streaming licenses for songs provided through MultiTracks.com, WorshipHouseMedia.com, and SoundStripe.com.
Here's Sunday's message from our study through the Gospel of Matthew: One woman’s extravagant display of affection shows us what love toward God and others really looks like. And we are reminded once again that nobody loves us like God does.
This afternoon it was announced that the current health orders that ban church gatherings will, unfortunately, be extended until at least January 8, 2021. We kn...ow that this will be a difficult December for many, and we wish we were able to offer you the comfort and encouragement of in-person Church gatherings. Let’s continue to check on each other, build each other up, and do whatever we can to gather online as the Church during this difficult time. The promise of Romans 8:28 still stands: ...all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. That means there are good things that God wants to do in us corporately and individually in this specific season of our lives. Let's be open to the work that God wants to do in us, and welcome the opportunity to cling more tightly to Him. We'll continue to meet online until we're able to meet again in-person, and hope you'll prioritise joining with us to be the Church online. We love you, miss you, and are praying for you. Blessings, Jeff & BJ.
Church is going online tonight at 5PM! We would love to have you join us. In this season where all of us are facing circumstances that are testing us, let us pe...rsevere when it comes to meeting together to worship Jesus - together. Even if that means we have to do that online for a couple weeks. The link to the service is below. Just copy and paste it into your browser and hit enter and.... voila! You will be online for church. Hope to see you there. newhopevancouver.online.church
This afternoon, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced new COVID-19 related health orders. To the best of our understanding, these new orders mean we will not be able to ga...ther for in-person services until after December 7th. Based upon Dr. Henry's verbiage, tone, and body language, it seems likely the order may later be extended beyond December 7th. Until we're able to meet in-person again, here's what you need to know: - We will be gathering together every Sunday at 5pm for an online service that will feature worship, a Bible study, a chat room, and the ability to request one-on-one prayer. We hope you'll join us this Sunday at mynewhope.ca/online. - Our children's ministry also meets online every Sunday at 1pm at mynewhope.ca/online. If you have kids, don't miss it! - Our midweek Home Groups will continue on Zoom until the end of November, at which time they will break for December. - If you need one-on-one counseling, our leadership teams are still available to meet and pray with you (with masks and social-distancing protocols, of course). We know this is a difficult time for many of us. Hold on tight to Jesus. Reach out if you need help. Call your brothers and sisters and check on them. Keep being the Church! We love you, and can't wait to gather together again around the beautiful name of Jesus. Blessings, BJ & Jeff.

Last Sunday's message is now online.

Last week's message is now available online. (Last night's message will be up in a day or two). Bless you as you hear God's Word!
Sunday's message is now up! We're also including our Home Group questions for this week below: Opener: God’s laws require His people to live with consideration toward their community. Where do you think our culture places the highest importance, on the individual or on the larger community? Why do you think that is the case? Is it the same in other cultures? Explain. Read Exodus 21:28-22:15... God reveals His will to His people in regards to how He wants us to treat each other. On Sunday Jeff said, With greater revelation comes greater responsibility. What does this statement mean? And what is the implication for our lives? Israeli society assigned responsibility to the individual and the community because their covenant with God was both individual and collective. Where do you personally place the highest level of importance you or your community? What does this look like for you? Should there be more emphasis placed on one or the other? What might be our individual responsibilities and our communal responsibilities be surrounding Covid-19? In Exodus the believer’s community commitment was to the nation of Israel. Today, the believer’s community commitment is to his/her church. This means that one of our greatest responsibilities is how we relate to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Do you agree with this? What do you think gets in the way of committing to loving and serving each other in a real and radical way? What is one way you could grow in this area? Biblical restitution has no expiration date. Explain what this statement means. What are the implications on our lives? When there’s no external evidence believers are to take each other at their word and release the rest to God. When there is a dispute do you find it easy to take your brothers and sisters in Christ at their word when there is no evidence to the contrary? Or do you battle being cynical? Can you think back to a dispute you’ve had another believer, have you ever had to release the rest to God? What does this look like?
After further research, we have learned that Dr. Bonnie Henry addressed the issue of churches during the Q&A portion of today's press conference. She specifical...ly stated that the new orders do NOT apply to churches. Churches ARE able to meet, with the normal restrictions and precautions. Therefore, we WILL be having a 5pm church service tomorrow and next Sunday. We apologize for any confusion. Bring your mask and come and join us!
Here's the message from this past Sunday in case you missed it.

We jumped into Exodus this past Sunday night. Here's the sermon that Jeff delivered, out of Exodus 20:18-26. Watch it if you weren't able to join us. Or watch it again if you want to remind yourself just how awesome our God is! This week in our Home Groups we will be discussing some of the things shared from this message from the Word of God. Bless you this week!
