Attn: STUDENTS & GRADUATES! They say, to shape the future one should invest in the leaders of the future. One way we do this is through PJaM. In the past two years PJaM (Prayer, Justice and Mission) has been a 5 day immersive learning and service trip catered to university/college students and recent graduates. We ventured into the heart of Hamilton to learn from leaders doing integral work and shared daily rhythms that incorporated a variety of prayer and spiritual formation...al practices. The impact has been deep and life changing for our students, many of whom are still feeling it’s impact. As with a great many things, COVID has shifted the realities for PJaM. It has provided an opportunity to be creative and re-imagine this program, still so new and fresh, while remaining true to our intentions. This year we will be operating virtually over the Family Day weekend and our focus is to provide a space where participants can experiment with key pillars of GOHOP’s rhythms; including (but not limited to) spiritual direction, a silent retreat, and a variety of prayer practices. We will also have opportunities to learn from leaders at Micah House Reception Services and Move-In as they work to live out justice and mission in their ministries. The past year has undoubtedly interrupted plans for students and young professionals, leaving questions and a lack of closure. We hope to offer them the space and tools to journey with God to find the answers that will guide them into the rich and vibrant future He has prepared for them.
