That's a wrap for the 2020 BC Winter Games. What a performance by our Zone 5 team. Not only did we come away with medals, we had our Jr Official chosen as the Jr Official of the event. Also, we had one of our intermediate level athletes win the Female Sportsmanship Award. One thing I can say is, what a well rounded Zone we are. I'd like to highlight one of our athletes, we needed to lean heavily on him today. I knew he was tired from yesterday, but he's from my dojo, and I kn...ew if I had to lean on someone, he'd be able to come through. Shout out to @harukimori_0621 for an amazing performance today. He was in 4 finals today, and came away with 5 medals. He did a total of 10 matches, 2 kata, 8 fights in less than 4hrs. Hr came away with medals in; Team Kata- Silver Individual Kata- Gold Individual Kumite (tall height)- Gold Individual Kumite (open height)- Silver Team Kumite- Bronze As a coach I also picked up a bronze medal for the team kumite, but the coaching staff decided it belonged to one of our athletes who was supporting the team this weekend, but fell short in their own divisions. I was able to keep the pin though. Huge thank you to coach @yushinakajimaa and coach @ameliedelrosario legit dont think I could've kept my sanity without you guys. I also learned on these 2 a lot during the competition, they made my job as easy as possible.
