Golden Blue

SO IN LOVE. I saw a post in mu feed with images of Reclaim Oracle and immediately I knew I needed it in my hands. As an indie oracle maker, I love connecting with other indie creators so I reached out to @marioncostentin to see if she wanted to do a deck trade. Happily she said yes! Reclaim Oracle is beautiful and the messages of the cards hit hard. I love this deck and I love using it alongside Birds Oracle Deck. Extra nuggets of wisdom gently pushing you on the right path.

SACRED IBIS. Words are so powerful, both when spoken and when written out. They have the power to transform lives. They allow us to express ourselves. To document our lives. They allow us to work through whatever is ailing us. Today, really think about your words. Spend some time writing out what is on your mind, be open and honest and truthful with yourself. And when you choose to speak, really choose what words you use wisely.

CEDAR WAXWING. That feeling is disconnection or not belonging. Sometimes we feel this way when it comes to work or friends or family and it is really an icky feeling. Sometimes we feel that we have to act or pretend to fit in and it's exhausting. Oftentimes it is the stories in our head that are dictating these feelings rather than the truth that is happening around us. I want you to know that you do belong. That you do matter. That the world needs you.

I wanted the last card in Birds Oracle Deck 2 to be a special one so I made it YOUR BIRD. The idea of it being a celebration of you. Of it being whatever it is that you want it to be or that you need it to be. Of tapping into yourself and knowing what that is and celebrating that. Celebrating you and all of your choices in life that brought you to this moment.

There is something about these birds that I just love so much. GROOVE-BILLED ANI. These birds are in Birds Oracle Deck 2 and they are all about being a product (or not!) of your upbringing. Groove-billed Anis live in family groups of up to 5 breeding pairs. They build one big nest and all of the eggs are laid in it. All of the adults take turns incubating those eggs and then raising the young whetherthey are biologically their wee ones or not. This means that those chicks ge...t a lot of different influences as they grow up with so many parents around. We were all raisedin households with parents or guardians with their own expectations, values, habits, etc but as we grow and evolve as individuals, we get to choose what of those we hold onto and what we left go of. Sometimes how we were raised no longer serves us and we need to break away from that to head on our own path. Know that this is okay. Be and do what feels good for you and your life because when you do, you become your most authentic best self. And that is all that any parent/guardian/family member/loved one should ever want from us. See more

I know that a lot of us are feeling low in energy. Feeling disappointed and sad. Feeling stressed about finances and work. Maybe relationships and our health. Frustrated. Angry. Annoyed. All of the things! When I am feeling this way (always these days?!), I am doing my best to keep GRACKLE in mind: Show Up. Sometimes we are not feeing our best - our most high energy, our most productive, our most positive - and that is okay. What matters is continuing to show up in whatever capacity you are capable of in that moment. Just doing the best that you can. Know that oftentimes just showing up is good enough.

Whether or not #BlueMonday is actually real (as in, it being THE most depressing day of the year), there is no denying that this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere everything is a little dark. Seasonal blues are a thing. Throw in a global pandemic and what a mix we have. I know that I could use a positive boost this week so I'm thinking that you could too. This is the last card in Birds Oracle Deck 2. Card 88. Your Bird. I made it this way to be a choice. You get to choose what this represents to you. How it feels in your heart and guts. Sometimes we need something like this as a little reminder to take these pauses, to know that we can make some choices and changes. We can choose how we spend our time. How we react to words spoken to us. How we want our day, our week, our life to be.

It's winter here in Toronto and we don't see a lot of light. Most days are grey. Occasionally there are pockets of sunlight shining through and these moments become great gifts. I have been working with new ways of bringing light and colour into my life to help balance out this grey. In my windows I have these prisms hanging.
