If you’re just starting out at the gym a full body routine is going to be your best way to go. You won’t have to spend 5-6 days and you’ll end up getting more bang for your buck. When putting together your routine remember to build strength in 6 fundamental primal human movements. You’ll want to have exercises where you: squat, lunge, hinge, push, pull, and carry. Scroll down Tyson's page Lift Performance do get some ideas. Remember to keep the weights light and practice good form when starting out. Slowly progress over time. Patience is a virtue, be consistent and you will see results. Tip from Tyson of Lift Performance // Watercress, the healthiest vegetable you’re NOT eating! This sh#t is amazing and here's why. A study, conducted by Jennifer Di Noia of William Paterson University, looked at 17 important nutrients naturally occurring in food (fiber, protein, potassium, Vitamin A, B12, D) and calculated how much of those nutrients were found in a 100-calorie serving. While other leafy superfoods like kale and spinach got scores of 70-80 out of 100, water...cress topped the list with a score of 100 out of 100, making it the most nutrient dense vegetable of all. Tips from Tyson of Lift Performance // Protein is one of three macronutrients required for the production of muscles. When working out, protein helps your muscles to heal quickly, preventing your body from overtraining. Overtraining is one of the leading causes of injury. Hands down the best way to get protein is through whole, natural, solid foods. That being said, sometimes it's hard to get enough protein through solid food. Ideally, you should eat .08-1g of... protein per pound of your current body weight. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs, you would need about 150g of protein every day. This is where protein powders come in handy. Drinking a shake post workout can help you hit your protein goals. It also aids in speeding up recovery, helping you lose weight, or just serve as a healthy snack. How about some corn on the cob for dinner tonight? Tip: Look for cobs with the husk intact. The husk should be green and fresh and conceal fine, silky threads. Kernels should be tightly packed, plump and smaller at the tips than in the middle (indicating young cobs). Cooking tip: Fill a large pot about 3/4 full of water and bring to a boil. Stir in sugar and lemon juice, dissolving the sugar. Gently place ears of corn into boiling water, cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the corn cook in the hot water until tender, about 10 minutes.
