Golden Ears Airpark 03.06.2021

We’ve now started the concrete and landscaping that will make up the main entry. This will include two, 12 foot electronic gates. One for entry. One for exit. They’ll be surrounded by sandblasted concrete planters and gardens and the perimeter will be aluminum black picket fencing. Extensive trees and shrubs will compliment the boarder and three, 30 foot aluminum flag poles will fly out countries flags high and proud. All of this and more will be complete, and ready to use once building C is complete early this summer.

As the sun comes up on another day. What I mean is As the sun comes up on another day after another all nighter pouring and finishing concrete. Yes what started at 9 am one day, ended at 9am the next day. Well worth the effort. The entire building slab is now poured. We’re now well into the framing stages. Roof trusses come next week. Count down to summer and home to many happy buyers. If you want in, time is running out. Only 2 T Hangars left and 3 box hangars. Come see us on site. 11807 Baynes Road. Cheers and stay safe.

What a difference a day makes....how many times have you heard that? No worries..... if you live on the west coast its just another day. A good day to play with big man toys and move some dirt. A whole lot of dirt. This spring we'll be selling screened topsoil so if you need some come on by and buy. We have about 1,000 truck loads. Anyways, back to the good stuff. This Tuesday we pour the remainder of Building C concrete and then we can finish the framing. Onward we go. We're 80% sold in this building which will be complete this summer so if you want a hangar, and quick, stop by. Cheers and stay safe.

So I arrived at work Thursday Jan 21 at 4:00 AM. The pump trucks arrived at 5;30 and the first concrete truck rolled in at 6:55AM and it all started. Under the bright flood lights and cool temperatures the first load of concrete landed in the forms. It would go on to be a beautiful west coast sunny winter day which allowed everyone to be in good spirits and after 11 hours of pouring, 30 truck loads, and precisely 293 cubic metres of concrete, the last truck rolled out at 3:15.... You would think the finishing and polishing would not be far behind, well, only 1 hour later, the sun departed and the floodlights came back on. The temperatures began to drop and with that the curing of the concrete began to slow immensely. As the temperatures dropped to a balmy -3 the finishers from PSI Concrete showed their true colours. Never did they slow. Never did they complain. Never did they say we’re done. They were AMAZING. I have been in construction since February 1982 and my hats off to these guys for their unwavering efforts. So, after 25-1/2 hours, freezing cold temperatures and sleep deprivation the last finisher drove away. 8:30AM the next day. I can’t say enough about what an amazing day and night we had. I’m so proud to be a part of this development and surrounded by people that give it their all. So thank you, to PSI Placing and Finishing and Rempel Concrete supply for this day. We’re now one giant step closer to seeing airplanes come and go from the GoldenEars Airpark. Cheers, and stay safe.

When we began this project it was a flood plane. All the surrounding land still is, not us. We’ve elevated the building site by over 6 feet to be high and dry eliminating any threat of water. The floor level will be 22 inches above Baynes Road. A building is only as good as its foundation. This foundation is as good as it gets by being high and dry. This is the beginning of a quality Built Aviation Hangar Development. Come see us at our sales center on site. 11807 Baynes Ro...ad. Cheers and Stay Safe......
