The stats are in for the month of April. A big THANK YOU goes out to our generous donors and wonderful volunteers. This April, volunteers donated 99 hours of their time to help our community! We are grateful for your assistance and support.

If you’re looking to support the Food Bank and would like to donate, we’re in need of toiletries please. We accept donations on Mondays from 2:30PM-5:00PM and Wednesdays from 9:30AM-12:30PM. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, feminine products, toothbrushes, dish soap, and laundry detergent in any size (full or minis). Join our Board of Directors! We're looking to recruit 2-3 new members to join us at our upcoming Annual General Meeting which is coming up on May 19th at 6:15PM MST. The Golden Food Bank Society seeks to represent the diversity of our community in our Board of Directors. This volunteer position requires approximately 5 hours per month and is an opportunity to guide the future direction of the Golden Food Bank! Our next food hamper pick up is on Monday May 3rd from 2:30PM - 5:00PM. Please bring information about your residency in Golden/Area A and come to the front door. We will collect your information and pack the food hampers for you! A food hamper consists of approximately 2 weeks worth of groceries for one person and is valued at $160! Two hampers per month include a variety of canned goods, cereal, snacks, protein, dairy and fresh produce (surplus hampers are available up...on request). In 2020, 14% were first time clients of the Food Bank which could be attributed to lack of seasonal job opportunities, reduced government subsidies and the global pandemic. Hello Golden! We need to load a pile of wood from Stonehouse Woodworks (log yard in Donald) to our new Golden Food Bank location (1407 9th St S). The wood is for our new garden beds which has been generously donated by Stonehouse Woodworks! Does anyone in our community have a trailer we may borrow for an afternoon? Alternatively, if anyone is interested in volunteering to pick up and drop the wood off to us, we'd greatly appreciate it. Any day of the week between 9am - 5pm!
