Bringing back a customers hedge into a more manageable size
The first week being able to go back to work was filled with many hedges, spring cleanups, and lawn mowing. Looking forward to some very busy weeks ahead trying to catch up on all the missed work.

When pruning a cedar hedge you want to first identify new growth this will be a lighter green than the rest of the tree, next you want to trim 1/3 or a maximum of half the new foliage. Cedars are not able to produce new growth on old wood. Lastly, keep part of the new growth so that the cedar continues to grow and fill out.
This is a situation we encountered where the vines on the cedar hedge had completely taken over and once removed uncovered the fact that the vines had suffocated and unfortunately killed the hedge. If you find vines in your hedge don't wait until it's too late to remove them!
One common error is to concentrate solely on the hedge's and shrub's exterior surface and can lead to hollow shrub syndrome. Natural pruning promotes healthy growth and dense foliage and provides an attractive, three-dimensional view.
