Over the past few months, as a result of being unable to safely process adoptions, both Coveted Canines and Coveted Kennels & Sanctuary decided to spend the tim...e feeding empty bellies. Since then, so many incredible companies came together to donate to our mission. On Thursday we received a massive donation from MARS Petcare #ABetterWorldForPets. The donation we received weighed thousands of pounds and was beyond generous; we were truly speechless with gratitude. MARS Petcare really does care. With this food we can feed not only the many dogs waiting in foster care with us at CCR, but all of our animals at Coveted Kennels and Sanctuary as well. We are so appreciative of their generosity, kindness, bravery and endurance during this unprecedented time. We would also like to thank Pet Valu Laird, Pet Valu Beaches, Pet Valu St. Clair, Global Pet Foods Davisville and Yonge, and to all the individuals that donated food to our mission as well. Thank you to the volunteers picking up food, dropping it off to rescues/shelters and people in need, along with our many foster homes holding dogs waiting until it is safe to process adoptions. Many of the individuals delivering this food to shelters, rescues and homes are still working through this crisis, and some are even front line workers. It is so inspiring to see these individuals fight, not only for the lives of humans, but for the animals, too. All necessary precautions have been taken to ensure donations are thoroughly cleaned at each step of exchange, and proper safety equipment has been worn to protect our sponsors, volunteers, and recipients throughout this process, to ensure safety for all. She's going to help out with our new virtual group classes! Here's a sentence with no exclamation point, so you know I'm not a total spaz. See! Not sure if virtual training is for you and your dog? You’d be surprised how many advantages there are! ... 1) There is no commute, so it saves time! There is no traffic, and no finding/paying for parking, 2) You can choose to participate as much or as little as you like. I can demonstrate the behaviors we need to teach with a dummy dog. Everyone that needs some feedback/troubleshooting can request it, but if you’d rather work on your own, you can. With some people opting out of some one-on-one interactions, those that actually need it will get more help. 3) With virtual classes, even if your dog is reactive towards other dogs or people, they can still participate. 4) We can record sessions so you can watch them again later if you need to. 5) Since I am also spending less time and money on commuting and renting space, I can afford to charge slightly less per class, saving you a little money 6) I can get your follow-up training plans mailed out to you even faster, because I don’t have to worry about setting up/cleaning up a facility. 7) You can do them from anywhere in the world. There is almost no downside to virtual training classes. There will occasionally be glitches where one of us experiences connection problems, but this is easily solved. If it’s only for a few seconds, we can just repeat whatever was missed. If it was a more substantial period of time, I can send you a recording of the parts you missed. If you have privacy concerns, you can either turn off your video so we see nothing, or use a background filter so all we see is you and your dog.
