So excited to go back to our favourite venue!

We are so proud of our Junior team for persevering through many challenges to our training and competing in the Porter Classic virtual elements competition. They finished with the bronze medal in the no hold element and the pewter medal in the twizzle element. This season has not been an easy one. Our skaters have faced many challenges and we have had to "pivot" and think outside the box in how we train. More than ever, we are skating for the pure joy of this sport. We know h...ow important it is that we prioritize our health and the health of those around us and that this too shall pass. We can't wait to be back competing in person with our synchro family when it is safe to do so again! Thank you to the competition organizers for working so hard to make this event a reality. With so many uncertainties it was a positive experience for our athletes to have a goal to work towards and to have that "competition" feeling again. Before the lockdown a few of our teams were able to film some of their favourite warmup exercises for the Skate Ontario November challenge. We are missing the ice and look forward to the day when we can be back together in person... but for now we will continue to work hard off the ice! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to film our Porter Classic virtual elements competition submissions yesterday with our Junior team. (Missing our dear teammates Katie, Melissa and Kate!) With many uncertainties this season, it was a joy to have that competition feeling again and we treasured these moments on the ice together. We are so sad that we won’t be welcoming teams to the CAA Centre for Winterfest on the January 8th-10th weekend. Gold Ice always looks forward to hosting this event with Skate Ontario and we were excited at the thought of kicking off competition season this year. We want to thank everyone who was working hard to plan for a memorable and safe event. Your commitment and dedication to our athletes and teams does not go unnoticed. Thank you to Skate Ontario for the opportun...ity to once again co-host this amazing event. We are grateful for all of the work your team did to adapt competition protocols and for your determination to do whatever it took to keep this event a possibility. We hope to be able to have the opportunity to once again host Winterfest in the future! Sending our synchronized skating community lots of love during these uncertain times.
