**Update on Gold Rush Nationals Drag Race 2020 - February 9th** We heard on JAMM FM Friday at 3pm that there are new proposed terms being drafted for our agreement with the Township to hold the races at the Chapleau Airport August, 2020. It was alluded to that they will be sent to us this week. This was not communicated to the CRDC except from the media release on the radio. We need to come together as a community in times like these, not tear each other apart! More information on the announcement of our cancelled race... ... The reason why the races are canceled is because the Chapleau Drag Race Committee and the Township could not reach a mutual accepted agreement despite our best efforts. The time line expired January 31, 2020. The information previously shared about the complaint is something that was merely a point brought up at a council meeting. This was a safe, fun, different, SUCCESSFULLY wild event - fuelled by volunteers (pun intended ) - to bring you the best entertainment and we truly thank you for participating. We are so incredibly disappointed to announce that the Gold Rush Nationals drag race will not be taking place in 2020. Despite the committee’s best efforts, there are still some existing barriers that we can’t overcome. More details to come.
