Happy International Women's Day - Did you know that women only make up 26% of golfers however 40% of new golfers are women; according to NGF. Golfaround continues to provide a comfortable environment to promote women golf so that golf becomes a major part of their life in future years.
Golf can boost our strength, flexibility, mental acuity and mood. It may even help us live longer. As we soon will be seeing the white landscape starting to turn to green and the days getting longer we start to think of getting out on the pristine green velvety fairways and enjoying the fresh air Golf is good for your brain, we really have to think strategically, control our emotions, make countless decisions and master very specific skills, golf may enhance your self-confide...nce, creativity and visual memory while helping you adapt more effectively to change. Golf always has been a great stress reliever for me. When I first started to golf I had a very stressful job but every Friday after work we would head to the Lakleview Par 3 and after concentrating on hitting that little white ball all the stress would fade away. Not only was it a good mind-training exercise, it also took my mind away from other things. A game isn’t over in an instant! When playing either 9 or 18 holes there’s plenty of time to feel the stress leave our body. By the end of the round we are physically exhilarated and mentally rejuvenated. Golf is a social activity and what is better than enjoying a couple of hours out in the fresh air with fun partners and friends? When we walk our golf we get a jolt of endorphins, the feel good hormones and time spent out in the sun helps us produce vitamen D which regulates our immune system and we know that exercise gives us a more positive outlook on life.
