This week wraps up all of our Junior Camps for the Summer! And WOW what a busy one it was. Big thanks to all who participated in our programs this summer and thanks to our amazing coaches, Cam, Tyler and Bobby.

We are excited to announce our participation in the Golf Gives Back program, designed to help with the COVID-19 relief efforts and give back to Canadian kids. This will be a 3-month contest with the net proceeds being donated to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada. All donors will have a chance to win great prizes, including a trip to the 2021 Masters. Kids are one week into "summer vacation" and we know the usual line up of recreational activities are limited due to COVID. We offer a GREAT camp program for juniors aged 6 to 16 at Salem. We've made some changes including offering only full days and lowering group numbers from 32 to 18 to help keep kids safe. The weeks are filling up! Check out our website for more details.

Last week Salem Ridge Golf Academy received a surprise visit from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) to conduct an Emergency Management Civil Protection Act Compliance Report surrounding COVID-19 and the measures we’ve implemented to keep both our staff and guests safe, and we’re excited to share that we passed with flying colours! We take great pride in the proactive and constant measures that our internal COVID Task Force, staff, and guests are following t...o ensure everyone remains protected while enjoying our facilities. As we enter into Phase 2 of Durham’s reopening plan, please note that we will continue to update our policies in the best interests of everyone’s safety. Most recently, we have added dividers to all of our Golf Carts allowing for two people to safely ride together. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we navigate these difficult times and look forward to seeing you at Salem Ridge!

We will be OPEN as of this Saturday and looking forward to welcoming golfers back! The driving range (7am) and course (7:30am) will be OPEN. Putting greens and short game areas will be closed. It’s been a few weeks since our world became part of a global pandemic. We wanted to update you on the current state of our businesses and what we’ve been up to the past few weeks. Since March 13th we have closed our pro shops @golfdeercreek @golfglencedars and office doors at all locations including Salem Ridge requiring all staff to work remotely from home where possible. Although we have been deemed a non essential business our team is continuing to work from the safety of... their homes, keeping positive and working towards our opening day. Some good news; our turf team has been maintaining our courses and grounds and all are in EXCELLENT condition. We are really happy about this and will continue to help each progress to their fullest potential so they will be ready for all of you, when the time comes. Now for some not so great news; we are unable at this time to confirm an opening date for the range and course. We are taking things day by day as so many other businesses are but you can be sure when we are legally and safely able to open we will be ready to welcome you! An update regarding the renovations on our banquet facility at Deer Creek, unfortunately construction has come to a halt. We are disappointed to say the least but so much is out of our hands. We’ve extended our grand reopening date to July 1st and should this date need to be adjusted we will be sure to keep you in the loop. We appreciate all the front line workers and essentials workers putting their lives on the line everyday for all of us as we continue to navigate this uncertain time.
