These beautiful beefy boys were captured by @concepttocamera back when we could put food on tables for you. But we can still put some bao in your belly! Pro-tip: you can pre-order online or over the phone starting at 4 PM. Get those orders in, especially if you want some late-night fried chicken!

Grilled Cheese baozi makes its triumphant return! A pan fried bao stuffed with @fromageriestalbertcheese curds, shallots, ginger and sriracha. Comes with a side of Lao Gan Ma chili crisp hot sauce! These guys move quick so order ASAP.
Our Tofu "Belly" Bao is our #vegan adaptation of a traditional Taiwanese dish. Our red-braise sauce is made with Red Fuyu (fermented bean curd), Toban Djan (fermented broad bean chili paste), & lots of fresh ginger & garlic for a rich and savoury flavour. Instead of the traditional pork belly we use tofu to keep things #vegan and we swap the peanuts for roasted soybeans to keep things nut-free.* House gai choy relish & fresh cilantro seal the deal! *Still let us know if ya got an allergy so we can be extra careful!

Ok... the good news: We can safely get back to full steam for dinner service tonight @ 4pm!!! The challenging news: because we were waiting for test results until this morning, it's too late to do lunch service today. Not news: Tofu Belly bao & 'RachaTvp rice are the best #vegan treats! Closed again for Covid precautionary measures blablabla*. #fuckcovid #besafe *: Someone in my (Tarek's) bubble was experiencing relevant symptoms & went for testing, so I have to isolate until they get their results back. They're actually feeling fine now, so it's unlikely to be Covid19, but I'm still following OPH's guidelines for isolation. We were already short staffed for today, so me having to isolate was the last straw. Should be back at it by Wednesday, but we'll make sure to post an update here. Spiced Pork Bao! Inspired by canned "spiced Pork cubes" (first encountered as an instant noodle topping at a cha chaan teng in Hong Kong), we slow-roast heritage Berkshire Pork shoulder, then finish it with classic Cantonese seasonings emulating the aforementioned tinned guilty pleasure. We serve it garnished with local red cabbage & crushed soy "nuts".

Our Pepper-Salt Chicken bao is a confluence of two superstar Taiwanese street food dishes - Pepper-Salt Chicken (a.k.a. Popcorn Chicken) and Gua Bao (the classic folded steamed bun typically filled with braised pork belly, gaichoy, cilantro & peanuts, but fillings & garnishes vary widely). We try to keep any playful twists or combinations on our menu simple, so as to preserve the identity of the dishes we're representing & the integrity of the food cultures we're working with. Stay tuned for more disclosure & transparency on our approach & ongoing relationship with food culture appropriation.
