A little taste of how our summer is going here at Good Earth Farms Seed is ripening nicely and we’re harvesting, drying and cleaning it as fast as we can. Time to put our heads down and keep going, September is around the corner the rains will be here soon! #gardenhustle #harvesttime #seedsaving
Live right now! Simon is giving a talk and demonstration on Seed Saving basics. He’s locked himself in the office so the cat and I can’t interrupt
We are busy bees these days, growing and harvesting seeds. After 20 years of growing seeds, this has become our main focus on the farm. If you are missing us at the Comox Valley Farmers' Market please know that we are home growing seeds and that we have decided to stop growing our beloved strawberries and garlic for market. We have lots of seeds available in our ONLINE STORE at www.goodearthfarms.ca and we’re keeping our retail stores stocked up as well. For a full list of retailers on Vancouver Island check out our website. Hope you’re all eating and enjoying the bounty of your gardens ~Heather & Simon
Simon will be at the Comox Valley Farmers' Market today. It might be his last one for awhile so hurry down to stock up on seeds for planting now, later in summer and the fall. He can answer questions and suggest plants for all your needs. Have a great weekend!
May long weekend is often touted as the unofficial start to gardening season, particularly for growers outside of the Lower Mainland. Here's 3 tips for success... if you're planting this weekend: 1) Know what the crop likes for soil temp, fertility, spacing and sun exposure and be sure to "harden off" seedlings like tomatoes, cucumbers and squash 2) Water seeds/transplants in well but allow the surface of the soil to dry before you water again 3) Use row cover like reemay, as pictured at ALM Organic Farm, to keep in a bit of heat and protect from wind and bugs Happy planting! #bcecoseedcoop #humanswhogrowfood #gyo #grownfromseed #growyourownfood #seedstarting #maylongweekend #springplanting

Meet Taz! He has been an amazing part of the Good Earth team for almost a year. He’s become one with the broadfork and we so appreciate his efforts and unending positivity
