Nothing can spoil holiday cheer like an emergency visit to a veterinary clinic. These seven tips can help prevent a holiday disaster with your pets. 1. Keep people food out of the reach of your pet, and ask your guests to do the same. 2. Make sure your pet doesn't have any access to treats, especially those containing chocolate, xylitol, grapes/raisins, onions or other toxic foods.... 3. Don't leave your pet alone in the room with lit candles, a decorated tree or potpourri. 4. Keep holiday plants (especially holly, mistletoe and lillies) out of reach of pets. 5. Consider leaving the tinsel off your tree if you have a cat. 6. Secure your Christmas tree to keep it from falling over if your dog bumps it or your cat climbs it. 7. Provide a safe place for your pet to escape the excitement (such as a kennel, crate, perching place, scratching post shelf or hiding place) if you’re entertaining guests. If your pet is excitable or scared, consider putting your pet in another room with some toys and a comfortable bed.

If you’re leaving your pet bird at home alone for a few days, don’t forget CLEAN WATER Is Important! For pet birds, often the bigger issue is not so much being provided with enough water as it is making sure they have clean water. (Most pet owners make sure there’s water in the cage.) If you’re away for a few days, your bird may have defecated in the water, taken a bath in it, shredded newspaper from the bottom of the cage and put that in the water, rinsed its beak in the bo...wl after eating it dunked food in the water to soften it. Any of the above-mentioned debris in a pet bird’s water dish can create an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. Now you don’t have to worry! I can check on your pet bird, change water and make sure your bird is happy!

Did you know? When Bearded dragons are babies their diet consists of 70% protein and 30% veggies and fruit but as adults it switches and they eat 70% veggies and fruit and 30% protein. What kind of protein do they eat?... Live Crickets, hornworms, meal worms and roaches for example (but my mom won’t let me get roaches). Rex mostly eats crickets and gets horn worms for a treat. When Bearded Dragons are teenagers they can eat up to 50 crickets a day.
