Happy New Year
Here's a fun countdown to do with the kids if you don't want to wait for the real thing ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlZbrbjx9OQ
To all of you celebrating today, Merry Christmas! It was a different day than we are used to, but we spent the day playing new games, video chatting with family and friends and building new Lego sets. It was a good day
We have been sharing old photos and my mom found one from before my youngest sister was born - look at all of those stockings on the mantel! My Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and cousins all slept at my parents house and we opened gifts together in the morning... then we would go to my Aunt and Uncle's house for dinner. 49 years - that's how many Christmas Eve sleepovers we celebrated with my mom's side of the family last year. They started the tradition before I was born and m...y sister made us all matching shirts to celebrate. Obviously we won't be celebrating 50 years tonight, but you can bet that when it is safe to do it, we will be. Matching pjs is one of our strongest traditions - along with my dad telling us his version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" before the kids go to bed. These are two traditions we can keep going - a little zoom story telling is in the works for tonight! Are you starting any new traditions this holiday season?
