An Easter poem by John R. Cross Jesus rose to life If Jesus be dead, in the grip of a tomb, There’d be nothing for us but fear and doom. Life would be sad, with no way to cope.... Death would reign all, without any hope. If Jesus be dead, in the grip of a tomb, We’d have no future, only dark and gloom. No life after death, no eternity in sight, No hope, no joy, no Saviour, no light. But. (And aren’t we thankful there is a but) But thanks be to God, Jesus rose to life. The debt all paid, though sin was rife. His body lay in the tomb three days, Then up from the grave his life was raised. Yes, thanks be to God, Jesus rose to life. He conquered death, all sin and strife. To those who believe, from death set free. With hope, with joy, their Saviour to see. See more

Easter is an open door to engage with the people around you, often resulting in giving a book or even guiding a study. This next month may hold opportunities for you to share the gospel with your boss or your brother or the neighbour who has gone through cancer this year or the jogger who passes you every day on your morning walk. Lots of people are looking for ways to continue Bible studies during a time where getting together can be difficult. Online Bible studies may not be ideal, but we can still share the Gospel using these tools.

This poem was written by one of our GoodSeed staff as she reflected on a year of turmoil and a Christmas that will look different this year. Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas. Whatever else is happening, let's not forget that. __________________ bursts into darkest night.... God with us! Radiant "tidings of great joy!" eclipses sunless circumstances, In the form of a helpless infant boy. incarnate, come to quench Centuries of parched yearning, Yahweh's fulfilled promises overflow Despite our every spurning. In the grind of chaos, Desperation and lonesome isolation, soothes our souls, graces His creation. Omnipotent, omnipresent manifest In one tangible, tender, tiny form, "He emptied himself taking the likeness of humanity." Emmanuel enters our storm. Naomi Johnstone

- Julie's Story No Ordinary Story Radio Theatre highlights the journeys of three individuals. Thrown together by circumstance, they each grapple with how the message of the Bible intersects with their personal life circumstances.... The characters portrayed in this production are not products of the imagination. Each character is closely based on the life of an individual who walked the same experiences in real life. We have changed their names, woven their stories together and changed the setting to a train. But the complex issues, life circumstances and patterns of thinking are true to life. In this e-newsletter, we want to highlight the story of Julie. JULIE: In my mind...oh, I was in a dark, dark place. On more than one occasion, I found myself in my bedroom on my face, banging my fists on the floor, calling out, God, if there is a God, show yourself to me! But... I received no answer. That is where Julie's testimony begins. From the outside, she was a talented, going somewhere business woman. But on the inside, Julie was a mess, completely falling apart. Even at a young age, she battled alcoholism, dark thoughts and a desperate hopelessness. By default, Julie was secular in her outlook and her ideas of the supernatural were formed more by popular culture than by any religious study she'd done. But Julie longed to know, longed for the hope that might come if she had answers to those big questions in life--questions that she didn't even know to ask, but nagged nonetheless. Why am I here? Does my life have meaning? What happens to me when I die? Is there something more than... this? The woman who inspired Julie's character in the radio theatre production found answers to those questions in a very unexpected way. She walked into a meeting to talk business and came out instead with an agreement to study the Bible from creation to the cross. That meeting was the pivot on which her whole life turned. We chose to highlight Julie's story because so many in our society will relate to aspects of it. Whether it's her initial confusion regarding the Bible, her life circumstances or the desperation she felt that caused her to sit down and learn a little about the Bible, many will see reflections of themselves in her story. https://www.goodseed.com/no-ordinary-story-radio-theatre.ht

! Christmas is an ideal time to share the Gospel with others. It tends to be a season of greater openness, of gift-giving, of sharing the things close to our hearts. Christmas gives us a unique once-a-year opportunity to touch the lives of those who might otherwise not be open to receiving such a gift. Read some ideas to consider on our blog.
