Good To Go Tire Tip Of The Day When is it time to replace your tires. All tires have a wear bar indicator. Do not wait till it is even with the tread or you wil...l die. No not exactly but you are risking sliding and loss of traction. Its time to start looking when you are 2 millimeters from the bar in the summer months 3 mm above in the winter months. Below I have posted a picture of the wear bars. Remember every tire has them. Hope this helps GOOD TO GO TIRE & AUTO
Good To Go Tire Tip of The Day When buying used tires did you know there are three tire sizes that will work for your vehicle. Here is how to find the sizes with one simple rule. 205 55 16... 215 50 16 195 60 16 See the pattern? The rule is if you go up with the first three numbers by 10 you go down with the second two numbers by 5 And the reverse if you go down by ten in the first three numbers you go up by 5 next two numbers. All three sizes will fit your vehical. Hope this helps GOOD TO GO TIRE & AUTO
Good To Go Tire Tip of the day. Bolting up your tires. Many people bolt up thier own winter tires. Here are some helpful tips that will keep you and others on the road safe. 1) loosen the bolts before you lift the vehical ... 2) always place jack under the intended jack points of the car or the solid frame rails 3) when you put the old wheels on make sure the hub surface and the back of the wheel are cleans of all loose rust and debris 4) when tightening the bolts tighten evenly in a star pattern so as not to pinch the rim or have it go on off center. 5) only snug them up do not pound them on with a drill or air gun. 6) once they are snug use a torque wrench and tighten them to the specific torque requirment for that vehical. Torque the. While the vehical is still lifted have someone step on the brake to keep the wheels from spinning. 7) retorque them with in one week if any bolts move you will need to torque a third time if they all stayed tight and torqued correcly you are done. The retorque can be done with out lifting the vehical. Remember new rims will come loose because the metal expands as they heat up. If installing brand new wheels you need to heat up the brakes right after install by driving the car or truck and retorque them while they are hot. Let them cool and heat them again by going for a drive. Then check them again with the torque wrench while they are hot if they stop moving you are done. If not torque and repeat until they do not move when retorqued. Hope this helps Good To Go Tire & Auto Still have used snows in stock come visit us.
Good To Go Tire Tip of the day. Using tire shine is a fast way to destroy a tire's longevity. Most tire shines are made with some form of alcohol. Alcohol will dry out the rubber compound and cause premature dry cracking on the sidewall of your tire. This does not happen over night but does over time destroy a tire. Hope this helps...
