Powder rooms, they may be the smallest room in your house but they can pack a big punch! This is the one room I am always down to suggest adding bold colours, patterns or even wallpaper. It’s a small enough space that it is easy to change and it is separate enough from the rest of your home that it doesn’t always have to match perfectly. This was one of my favourite afters - we painted on these stripes by first painting the whole washroom Benjamin Moore Decorator White CC-20... , then measuring and taping off the areas for the accent colour, Benjamin Moore’s Soho Loft CSP-10. The result was fabulous!! If you are wanting to add a little pizzazz to your powder room, give us a call!

One of the classic design tips is to make an impact with your entrance and boy does this front door do that!! This client wanted her door to be the brightest and most bold red we could find and she definitely succeeded! She selected Benjamin Moore’s Ruby Red 2001-10 and we think it packed a colourful punch. Now that the warmer weather is here have you started thinking of updated your exterior?! Give us a call and see how we can help!

I am all for adding colour to your home but sometimes the fixtures need to be the part that pops, not your drywall. This hard loft in the west end of Toronto was given a fresh coat of BM Chantilly Lace and it allowed all the beautiful brick, wood and metal to take centre stage.

Apparently it is #nationalunicornday so this post is perfectly timed! Haha This is hands down the most fun and fabulous little girls bedroom we have ever painted!! I mean, what 3 year old is lucky enough to pick her very own paint colour and have her parents surprise her with a mural like this?! Our client this week has been having a lot of fun with colour but her daughters room take the cake! ... It was painted in Home Hardware’s Beauti-tone Seashell Pink and the mural was not installed by us. I cannot wait to hear how her little one reacts to her brand new bedroom.

My Friday favourite goes out to an amazing female owner and operated Hair Salon in Barrie - A&A Salon! A few summers ago we gave their salon a trendy update with Onyx Black trim on the entire exterior. This added a level of class and sophistication to this very funky old home turned salon. Some may think black is too harsh but it is the most complimentary colour with old reddy brown brick! ... Another pro tip- paint your front door frame the same colour as the door for more impact! It gives the illusion of a larger and more grand entrance. Not to mention, Alexa and Anna are the best stylists around! And yes pre-pandemic I would drive to Barrie for them You two have had to pivot quite a bit in the last year and you have always done so with such grace and kindness. Cannot wait until you can open up once again

Nothing is more chic than the classic black and white colour combo! We kept it open and airy for this basement bathroom by doing the ceilings and walls in #benjaminmoore Decorator White OC-20 and the trim, frames and doors Chantilly Lace OC-65. When doing bathrooms, especially ones without windows for ventilation we always use Kitchen and Bath paint. Our go to for an eggshell finish is #Dulux and matte is #benjaminmoore.

Black, white and gray are one of the most classic colour combos and can bring any dated home to the 21st century!! This is one of my favourite transformations because it was my own house!! When my now husband and I purchased our home in 2018, she was a wee bit dated. It hadn’t been touched since 1991 and we both immediately envisioned what a few basic renovations and a whole lot of paint could do!! The dramatic change of a wooden staircase can be huge and if the wood is in ...good shape adding a few layers of primer and paint is 100% the way to go! Primer: STIX gripping primer on risers + spindles, Farrow & Ball stair/floor primer on treads and handrail Top coat: Decorator white CC-20 Benjamin Moore advance melamine Pitch Black No. 256 Farrow & Ball Wooden floor paint Walls: Stonington Gray HC-170 Should I start sharing some of my own past renovations?!

Most of the time with such beautiful fixed elements in a room I would recommend letting them take the stage, but these darker walls added a level of sophistication to this stunning master bathroom retreat! HC-169 Coventry Gray by Benjamin Moore is a beautiful medium tone gray that holds a lot of depth. When paired with white it can sometimes lean blue/green but when used with a slight accent of brown (the chandelier, some veins in the tile & picture frames) it read true gray. Want to create some intimacy in your space with colour? Give us a call!

From beige and dated to fresh and fabulous!! This kitchen cabinet update completely transformed this small kitchen and gave it a much needed breathe of fresh air! Primed with Stix gripping primer and top coated with #benjaminmoore Advanced Melamine in our new favourite OC-17 White Dove. ... This white has just enough warmth to go with browns and beiges without looking yellow.

Rainy days just make you want to curl up with a good book or throw on a movie with a fire don’t they?! On a dreary rainy Friday like today this stunning family room would be the first spot to do just that! We updated a this basic fireplace and added drama and height by using my absolute favourite dark gray Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal. This old faithful colour creates just enough of a statement on any surface with its perfect depth of colour and true charcoal tone. It ...isn’t too harsh, too blue or too brown - it’s just right! This colour was used in various areas throughout this show stopping house - in high gloss on the walls in the powder room, on the kitchen island and even on some painted side tables! The possibilities become endless when you find the perfect accent colour!!

As the year starts to come to a close I am fondly looking back on all the trends we encountered (and encouraged!!) and the all white ceiling, walls, trim, frames and doors was one of the top 3!! This look makes your furniture, decor, and yes even pets the focus and allows you the options to incorporate a lot more variety with bright and bold colours. Since we will all be spending a lot of the winter indoors why not freshen up your space? Give us a call or email for your free quote!

Often times when meeting with clients to discuss staircases they say ‘it must be time consuming’ ‘it seems like such an awful and annoying job’ ‘I can’t imagine having the patience to do it’ Truth be told, I have grown to love it! Yes it’s time consuming and there is a 12-24 hour dry time between coats. Yes it takes a steady hand, special tools and yes sometimes we even use tape (). And yes most of all it requires patience BUT the transformation and happiness it brings to ...clients is so worth it!! It helped open up and elevate the entry and stairway at this older west end Toronto semi. Have you been thinking of revamping your staircase? Give me a call or drop me an email and I will happily provide a free quote!

One of my favourite modern but classic colour combos - white, grey and navy blue! This beautiful palate played perfectly with this very stylish condo and helped to make the built-in features shine.

A little bit of white paint can go along way! Updating staircases can make a huge impact on the entrance of your home without having to do major renovations. A ‘simple’ prime with a gripping primer and 3 coats of Melamine. Here we used Benjamin Moore’s class CC-40 Cloud White. We love Stix gripping primer and @benjaminmoore Advance Melamine for the longest lasting results without using oil!
