HOMEBUYERS: If you are on the edge of CMHC’s new lending requirements or your down payment is from a borrowed source, the time to act is NOW before the new rules take effect. CMHC is announcing significant changes to its lending requirements effective July 1st. They include: minimum credit score of 680 (up from 600), gross debt servicing ratio of 35% (was 39%), total debt servicing ratio of 42% (was 44%) and the most significant change NO BORROWED DOWN PAYMENT ALLOWED.
