We had a meeting of Union Water this morning. Year end audited statements received. The CAOs of the four towns that share an interest are going to be invited to the restructuring committee. Good news. Town Council last night approved the request to go to County Council for a safe school zone by Gosfield North Public School. Police service board also to receive a parent's letter of concern re speed and safety.Good news. Great time in the past. Hopefully the Easter Bunny will return next year for the annual Easter Egg hunt at Lakeside Park.

The Planning Advisory Committee last night discussed a suggested zoning change from Residential to commercial on Division St north . The file will move on to the Council table with out a recommendation.

At the Union Water Meeting this morning a halt was made on large water requests for Water. A joint local Committee establishment ( the experts ) to help us study and move forward with 12 month term. Residents and housing not effected. Large greenhouse growth now on hold. Study will see what has been approved vs what was built that effects our long term capacity.

Council conference policy. On Monday Council will receive a proposal to update the Council Conference Policy. The report shows comparative information and details what can be paid and when as well as maximum to be paid each year. Council Of the County has a similar policy. Other policy indicates what you can take or receive as a gift and still not play yourself in conflict. You can accept a pen or pencil or even a cup of coffee but Council Training teaches you not to receive gifts from developers and such.

New Open Street Committee set up last night. This Committee has two major tasks. 1. Get volunteers 2. Make suggestions to Council since this is a Town event . The Committee will not be directing staff or making final decisions or details. For that our Program Management team gets input or suggestions from many Before Council give final approval of draft plans.... Different from last year. Different from a suggested committee structure. Basically we want all safe, but more structured. See more

Main Street West ( CR20 To Rd 2) Development has been on the books for a long time. Council will receive the Committee minutes for this project on Monday night. The Development includes not only the road, but possible housing in the Old Conklin apple orchard area, but most important a water line from road 2 south to CR 20. Future development planning underway.

On Monday night we will discuss a Subdivision Development in the Cottam area. Our little community is growing. On Friday the public should be able to download the entire Council Agenda package and see the development plans.

Your local B.I.A. Represents the merchants in the old Downtown Core. Even with Covid they are planning their annual meeting. This year on Zoom . The Dump and farm land around it. County Council approved a lease renewal this evening for some County owned farm land that is a buffer around the County Landfill. The farm land is actually going to be farmed. What a great idea.
