Came across this strangely haunting photo yesterday as the kids and I were flipping through old albums. This was 10 years ago!? HOW!? It was our 19th wedding anniversary yesterday and the kids wanted to see pics of when they were little. (Moses is VERY little in this one! While I’m exceptionally large! Flipping through actual photo albums is a favourite pastime around here and we hadn’t done it for ages, I was surprised how emotional it was and how much it seemed to affirm t...he kids. In a year like no other, it was a great exercise to look back and appreciate how far we’ve come together as a family. There have been SO many good times, times forgotten until memories are triggered with pictures, but also SO many challenging times, testaments to the strength and perseverance we’ve used to get through it ALL. 2020, you’ve been a sucker punch in so many ways...but you are also just a dot in a timeline. While most of my time is focused on looking up or looking ahead...trying to be positive about the future...yesterday it was awfully valuable to take a look back and see the truths, battles, and triumphs sitting there in my history. To chart the way forward, it’s imperative we take counsel from the lessons in our past...those are my deep thoughts for the week anyways:) Adventure on friends...and pull out those photo albums...you might be surprised what revelations hit you:) You might also find that the things you are striving for today aren’t the things that are the most important... #family #familyphotography #happyanniversary #farmlife #picturesworhathousandwords
