Moses' two mothers had to navigate the challenges of holding on & letting go. To raise our children in a healthy realtionship we need prayer, pointing them to God and to place them in His hands.

There is no special standing before God without the presence of Jesus in our lives - we are on a level playing field regardless of faith group, nationality or other connection - we all are prone to sin. The good news is that Jesus has levelled the playing field so that we can all have access to God when we grieve, believe and receive.

Liminal spaces are like being on the threshold - waiting between places. We have done a lot of that in the past year, but the book of James shows us that this is a place for patience, perseverance, perspective shift and preparing.

The second of "8 Things You Need to Know" is that Judgment is God's Job. It can be easy to judge someone else's sin - but that's not our job. That doesn't mean there won't be judgment, but that is up to God - not us. Our job is to watch our own lives, warn others by pointing them to the Bible and to wait for God to right the wrongs.

What does it mean to wait in the "in-between"? How can we make the best use of our time in these "liminal spaces" - when we are on the threshold, neither really in one space or the next? Join us Sunday at 10:30am as we look into what the Bible says in James 5:7-18.

Hi friends! Well Avalanche was a great weekend! All of our crew worked from their homes, but it was all well coordinated by Alvin Lau. We had sessions hosted by my friends (and former Recreation Directors in my years with Blizzard) Karla & Dillon Campbell introducing (pre-recorded clips from) our speaker Meisha Watson (former YTV host of "The Zone") and our band from Connexus Church in Barrie. ... Our MCs/hosts also helped those watching to reflect on what was said and to point people to Jesus. Young people also had virtual "small group" times in which they shared questions to help them grow in faith and to reflect on what it means to live with integrity and to be ONE in all of what they do - and to find that oneness in their identity in Jesus! They also provided fun games, and challenges that involved the youth making snowmen, full meals and other games, sending in pictures and videos for team points - it looks like they had a lot of fun! I know that I enjoyed seeing them and also taking part in Friday and Saturday night's virtual campfires. My role was to monitor what was happening and to provide feedback where needed - as well as being the first point of contact for the team if they needed anything. I also monitored the email for the weekend to respond as submissions were sent in and to answer any questions youth leaders had. I spent a bunch of time with my laptop watching one screen - with a headphone plugged in and listening - and simultaneously having my cell phone with something else going on - with a different headphone on the other side listening to that too! It was a great weekend with lots of young people and youth groups listening in and taking part - please pray that what they heard, saw and reflected on will take root in their hearts. In a time when many people don't believe in absolutes and want to question everything, how can we know that Jesus really is God's Son?

Hi friends! Some of you know - and made sure I knew (thanks!) - that Lloyd Anderson was taken to University Hospital in London and has had some gall stones removed. Tomorrow he is scheduled to have the gall bladder removed, and they also want to take a look at one kidney, he told me tonight when I called.... He is in good spirits, and their daughter Jane (whom I had a brief chat with this afternoon) is staying with Alma. Please keep them all in your prayers and specifically for successful surgery and healing for Lloyd. Peace and blessings, Pastor Carl

Does the Bible tell us to just "name it and claim it" when it comes to our desires? Can we bend God to our will, or claim any promise we like for ourselves or is there a different way that we should call on God?
