Morning walk with Hilary, Souza & Cal!Looking cute for the camera!
First posted April 18, 2017 Greyhounds use More Muscles than other Canines ... A greyhound carries 55% of their body weight in muscle (compared to 45% in other ...breeds) and here are some important anatomical and physiological points to consider: Two thirds of the body is carried on the front limbs, one third on the hind limbs. This forward gravity effect aids acceleration. Muscles on the hind limb are larger and thus produce more power and strength. The forelimbs have 80% steering function, 20% speed, with an important weight bearing and shock absorbing function. Most limb extension is immediately prior to weight bearing, most flexion when the limb is in the air. Therefore the extensor muscles are stronger than flexor. In addition to flexors and extensors, abductors and adductors contribute to limb movement, a complex interaction of a number of different muscles.
She did it! Hilary finally jumped up onto the bed, all by herself! No more lifting her up there! So proud of my little girl!(Good thing I have a queen size bed, so at least the doggies are comfortable!)
It’s been a week of firsts for Hilary! My little ray of sunshine finally learned how to jump into the car by herself! (No more having to lift her into the car...!) She finally did a poop out on a walk, (never has before, always held it til we got home) and I finally caught her roaching! (It’s a greyhound thing, for those who don’t know, see pic). All she has left to learn is how to jump up on the bed... Love this little girl so much! See more
Happy Easter Everyone!
