We are so encouraged to see so many people utilizing our outdoor rinks this season. To ensure all rinks are accessible for users of all ages and abilities and c...an be enjoyed safely by all community members, we’d like to remind everyone that hockey is only permitted on high-board rinks and not permitted on low-board rinks. Additionally, here is a refresher on the current provincial health regulations so we can prevent the spread of COVID-19 and everyone can stay on the ice longer: Gatherings of non-household members are not permitted; non-household users must be distanced by 2 meters No competitions, pick-up games or shinny can occur (CMOH Order 39) We thank everyone for their co-operation and good sportsmanship. For a list of fun, recreational activities to enjoy outdoors this season, visit cityofgp.com/winterplay.

On November 3, 4, and 5, residents are invited to open houses about the Avondale ARP, a planning document that will help determine the future of the use of land... near the high schools and recreation areas. The sessions are an opportunity for members of the community to learn about ideas for the future use of the area in the short term (2-5 years), medium term (10-20 years), and long term (30+ years) and provide feedback to the City’s land use planners. Two sessions will occur in-person on November 3 and 4 in one-hour time slots. Registration is recommended as space is limited due to COVID-19 guidelines. Physical distancing and masks are required for those attending in person. For those wishing to attend online, a ZOOM information session will be held on November 5th.
