On your mark, get set, and GO in this series all about sports! Together we will jump into coding our own games based on traditional sports such as archery, hockey, skiing, tennis, and biking. This program will occur virtually over Zoom. Ages 8 to 12 Participants will be registered for all 4 sessions, each of which will build on the knowledge of the previous. Our Children's Department staff members have been pulling a number of items from our collections that are now ready for new homes. Picture books, chapter books, juvenile graphic novels, and juvenile non-fiction will all be available. Please note that due to the size of the Linda Smith Story Room, a maximum of two families will be allowed to browse the books simultaneously.

I'm excited to announce the theme for our 33rd annual Collins Writing Contest is... The Bots. We're looking for stories about the robots, drones, autonomous vacuums and artificial intelligences that dominate our lives.... Stories must be unpublished, the work of a single author, and 2000 words or fewer. Authors must be residents of Grande Prairie, the County of Grande Prairie, or the MD of Greenview. Entry deadline: Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 5:00 pm.
