Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recommendations by the Chief Medical Officer for Alberta Health, Guidance Professional Services Inc. has made the prudent decision to move all counselling sessions online indefinitely. At GPS, we have the ability to administer all therapies online except the Safe and Sound Protocol which we will administer in-person at a later date. My 24 hour cancellation policy is still in effect for any sessions booked online as this is the only method of... delivery at this time. We encourage everyone to consider online as a very valid alternative to in-person therapy so as to avoid interruption of services. Please message us anytime for clarification or to ask any questions. It is of the utmost importance that Albertan's and Canadians do their part to keep the virus in-check and this involves staying at home and practicing physical distancing. As of March 15, 2020, the Alberta Chief Medical Officer has updated the province's response to COVID-19. Effective immediately, student attendance at K to 12 schools is prohibited and in-person post-secondary classes are cancelled. All licensed child care facilities, out-of-school care programs and preschool programs are closed indefinitely. New info for airline passengers, travellers, and employers has been published. The Chief Medical Officer also indicated that two of ...the new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19 were contracted in the community. More stringent priorities have been put in place as of March 17, 2020. At Guidance Professional Services, my intent is always to keep clients safe and well. In connection with these new developments and my own personal circumstances, I have decided to take my practice to online only starting on Monday, March 16, 2020 indefinitely. I have the ability to administer all therapies online except the Safe and Sound Protocol (unless ordered for home use). Clients have the choice to go ahead with scheduled sessions online or cancel and re-book when/if I return to the office. Since I will be fully online, my 24 hour cancellation policy is still in effect.
