A little pumpkin baby!

Some of my beans are coming up! Cut worms already got a few. If you put a stick in alongside the stem of the plant the cutworms will leave them alone.

I got all my seeds in! Have you? I planted beans, carrots, pumpkin, zucchini and squash. :)

If you come to the gardens bring a jug of water. Our reservoirs are not filled yet. Happy planting!

We are excited to say that all our free plots are reserved this year! But if you are interested please let us know, because we are evaluating whether to add more plots for next year!

Things are getting going over at Grace Community gardens!

Pro tip: if you notice small plants such as bean or pea seedlings falling over like a felled tree, that’s cutworms! Bigger plants like peppers and tomatoes may start to wilt for a day or two before the cut worms full cut through the stem. Sticking a little stick in along side the cut worms helps deter them. I’ve had great success in the past!

We are open for planting! Don’t feel bad if you haven’t planted yet, I just did mine today! Stop in at Full Bloom plant stand while you’re there! They have a wide assortment of flowers and fruits and veggies, and even bags of soil!
