I’ve been a bit busy offline and haven’t been posting as much especially with a new puppy to occupy so much of my attention lol but I wanted to give a proper shout out to Babcock Hubbs House for hosting a fantastic little art retreat for me recently. With everything going on in the world and with so much hate, conflict and uncertainty I was able to get away to the country for a few days of focus and recharging my batteries. I painted and drew and tried to find some creativi...ty again in their beautiful Airbnb - an old restored historic farmhouse in #PrinceEdwardCounty Thank you Julianne for being so generous and for being such attentive hosts. The farmhouse is incredible, inspiring, peaceful and the neighbour’s dogs even came to visit lol. I’ll definitely come back for more time in the country If you’re looking for an escape in the country check out Babcock Hubbs House on Airbnb! #artretreat #gracemarquezart #gracemarquezstudio #findinginspiration #oceanart #octopus #pastelonpaper See more

I love seeing happy happy customers with my art in their spaces. This large watercolour and pastel drawing of an octopus memory from Truk lagoon reminded me of a documentary I just saw - My Octopus Teacher on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it check it out and experience a bit of the magic of our waterworld and connecting with the creatures that call it home

Sighhhhhhh.....Missing the caves and hoping to get back to them again soon...and back to traveling again soon. Also thinking of my friends in Mexico especially @jjosiak and Norma and hoping things will get back to normal pronto. Here’s another small acrylic painting from one of the most touristy cenotes in the Mayan riviera - Dos OJos. But oh my goodness what a beautiful cave and one of the prettiest caverns!

Colour. Colour. Colour. Kinda feeling like we could all use a little more colour and sunshine these days. Been painting lots of vibrant reef and coral life to stay cheerful in these crazy times. These small acrylic on paper original paintings are all varnished, matted and available for purchase if you’d like a smaller original painting for your space. It’s amazing how looking at something colourful on the wall can give you a few moments of peace and joy when you see them #gracemarquezstudio #gracemarquezart #oceanart #underwaterart #underwaterartist #coral #coralreef #saltwater #instaart

Just last weekend #latergram ...the water in #Tobermory is always at its warmest at this time of year and into October. The surface temps and the wind however can be another thing @alex2991s and @divingdutch hovering above the stern rail on the Forest City wreck in the beautiful blue waters of #LakeHuron #ddsdivers #wreckdiving #greatlakes #gopro #goprophotography #techdiving #dansdiveshop #nauitec #shipwreck #scubadiverslife #scubadiving

I haven’t posted any finished art in some time and I’ve got a whole series I want to share!!! Here’s a closeup of one of my Aqua #Rhythm series. Sometimes if the fish don’t immediately swim away it’s amazing being surrounded by a flurry of shining #light on scales and colour. This small original #acrylicpainting on paper will come matted for an 11x14 frame with a viewable image of 8x10 and available for purchase on my site soon! #gracemarquezstudio #gracemarquezart #waterworld #underwaterart #oceanart #canadianartist

Some details from a commission I’ve painted and repainted a few times over the summer. Sometimes what I have in my head takes a few paintings to manifest but now I’m happy to say it’s done!
