Hey Everyone! Today in the Amigurumay 2021 prompts is: Hooks I have SO MANY hooks (do we all have a ton? Probably???) The hooks in the case are @boyeyarncrafts . These are the first hooks I bought when I first started. They are the ones I use most often. I have a bunch more from a set because it was cheaper to buy 12 of them than it was to buy the one size I needed that day .... Truthfully the Boye ones hurt my hand. They aren't long enough, especially on the smaller size ones and they dig into my palm. I want to buy better hooks but I'm still learning which hook size is my favourite and I feel like I need to figure that out before I commit to a quality hook(s). Then Id like to donate these hooks to a new crocheter. So here's my question to you crocheters - what's your favourite hook to work with? Have you tried the light up ones? Do they even make them small enough? Is it worth it? And for you Amigurumi makers - what size do you use most? AmiguruMay 2021 - Day 6 is: Photos and Props. This is the day I am most excited about, because this is NOT my skillset. I have learned so much since November but I have a LONG way to go. I take all of the pictures from my phone. The Google Pixel takes a pretty great pic, IMO. Hey @brettnorrie Originally I was just taking pictures to show friends what I had made, so it was just on my white chair. Then I got some white card paper from #dollarama and made a quasi #photobooth ...out of it. Yesterday my newest setup arrived, so I've got more learning to do with that. My absolute favourite pictures from today are where you show me the result picture, and how it happened, so I tried to re-create that a little. First I've got my complete chaos, everything on the kitchen table, and a bit of a disaster. I'm lucky to have a great window with lots of natural light so this is where I've set up. Next I've got the result picture - which I've just taken for the sake of this prompt today but it does give a quick sneak peak into my newest pattern, coming soon. Lastly, I have the edited version. I like it really bright, and maybe I overdo it, I don't know, but to me it looks nice. To edit the pictures I use the #jillypresets from @jillian.harris. In this case, I used the #crispwhites preset. I'm no photo editor and the fact that this does it all for me in one click is So that's it. Comment below with your fav photography tips, I need them all!!! - BUNNY BASKET - I was lucky enough to be chosen to test the pattern from @mydearknot for this adorable bunny basket. For any fellow crocheters, head over to her page for a link to this really adorable pattern! It also came at a really awesome time personally, since I just released my first pattern. - ELEPHANT - I have been patiently waiting to make this elephant and finally it lined up for me. I ran out of grey yarn with 2 legs left to make (why does that keep happening to meeeeee), and the search for it took me all over the city. But I had a super fussy baby so it actually worked out quite nicely. ... Running out of yarn meant that I also started on 2 other projects before finishing this one. And I NEVER do that. I finish one completely before starting the next - it frazzled me to think of the disorganization of multiple projects. But then I did it, and I kind of like it. Who even am I?!? Anyway, this elephant tried to water my succulent so, it's gotta go. Off to Ontario where it can live happily ever after. I really thought that I was going to actually decorate my house with those gorgeous @shelfmate @showhomefurniture shelves but it turns out it's just housing my completed projects and I am not mad about it.
