Our Property Manager Chris shared something pretty interesting with me. In the second photo below, you can see the crane operator Wayne and his son. Wayne put the steeple up roughly 50 years ago, and it was his son who took it down 50 years later.

Happy Thanksgiving and Frohes Erntedankfest! The newest sign says it all. German services are back at Grace. We are still in the process of working out exactly when and how often, but it seemed fitting that our first German service since public worship services were allowed again in Ontario would be on Thanksgiving. The logistics of livestreaming are still being worked out. For now, if the German service is being livestreamed, a link will be posted by the start of the service. As with the English service, when it is recorded it will be available online until the following Saturday.

Thanks be to God! We had our first church service in our sanctuary, yesterday, the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost (June 28, if you prefer the worlds dating), since we stopped public services in response to Ontarios state of emergency. We had 39 in attendance, with all wearing masks for the sake of the many elderly and immune compromised members at Grace, in seeking to honour 1 Corinthians 12:21-26. Pastor did not wear a mask while in the chancel during the service of Prayer and Preaching. Pastor did wear a mask before the service as he greeted members in the parking lot and when he walked down the aisle of the sanctuary at one point during the service. We continue to require the wearing of masks next Sunday and will review this weekly, until Pastor and the deacons conclude that it is safe to no longer mandate it.
