It's the final day of spreading the joy of music and Christmas through showcasing student performances from our recent online Cross Country Christmas Recital! Even though we were unable to gather to have an in-person recital and end-of-year celebration in the ways we are used to, there was something so special about this year's recital. The Covid19 pandemic opened up the opportunity for violin students from across Canada to gather together on Zoom to celebrate their hard w...ork and share the joy of music and Christmas with each other and their friends and families. Despite the pandemic, we were still able to connect with each other, even across large distances, and celebrate. I smiled watching each student's video performance. Filming from home allowed students to catch glimpses into each other's personal lives and for creative personalities to shine as they filmed in front of christmas trees or lights wearing festive decor. Thank you to all the students for your hard work preparing the performances and to the parents for the work you put into making these recordings. The last performance of the recital is always the teacher performance because as teachers we want to be a model and an inspiration to the students.
