LET’S TALK SUPPLEMENTS . That’s exactly what they are meant for - to supplement nutrients, not to be taken instead. With the variety of foods we have available to us, we can for the most part get the proper nutrients our bodies need. BUT with many of our lives in stress, height intensity workouts, vegan/vegetarian/ plant based diets, super busy lives we often aren’t getting all the nutrients and that’s when supplements come in super handy!... I always recommend to get a blood test prior to talking to your doctor or ND so you can see where your levels are at - and upping your intake if anything comes low from your test. For me personally, I’ve had issues with my iron levels so I get my levels checked every so often to make sure if needed I can increase my iron intake or supplementation! What I’m taking right now: Iron - always with Vitamin C for better absorption B Complex Zinc - with echinacea & Vitamin C just during the winter months for immune system SISU Hair Skin & Nails supplements - for extra help during the winter months!! Yes, there’s often a little more than these simple rules to help you live and feel your best! But in order for you to feel 100% these 4 are a MUST If one is lacking.. this often throws the other parts off which in turn doesn’t make you feel your best ~ try adding lemon, mint or fruit to your water to help increase your water consumption & make it taste more pleasing! ... ~ have a good nighttime routine that helps to get your body into a restful state - even before bedtime. Put lavender essential oils into a diffuser in your bedroom, have a hot bath with Epsom salts to help relax you, refrain from electronics an hour before sleep to turn your brain off ~ eat a variety of vegetables & fruit daily! Plant foods are full of different vitamins + minerals our bodies need and are required for optimal health ~ exercise! Move your body any way you like! Hike, run, swim, dance, walk, sprint, scooter, jump - whatever!! Just move! Keeping your body moving anyway that you can is essential for keeping your body healthy . . . #plantnutrition #holisticnutritionist #holistichealth #plantbasednutrition #healthylifestyle #lifestyletips #keephealthy #moveyourbody #lovewhatyoudo

Honestly, I’ve always really been into food. I can’t remember when I wasn’t thinking of what I was going to be eating next and getting the most excited about what my next meal was going to be Food has always brought me joy and somewhere I knew I wanted to have a job where food was part of it. Growing up, my mom taught me about the importance of health and nutrition and what you put into your body is MOST important. I really didn’t appreciate these teachings until later in my ...life probably when I had my own kids at 20 Then I really began to learn and think about what I was putting in my body during pregnancy, then when my boys started eating - what I was feeding them. Becoming a nutritionist came into my mind, then I blew it off. I didn’t know anyone who was a nutritionist and I didn’t really think about it. It’s truly the best of both my passions. Every year for thanksgiving & Christmas dinner I make this homemade cranberry sauce - it adds a tart festive flavour from the cranberry + allspice with the sweetness from pear + apple juice! Festive Cranberry Sauce: 2.5 C organic cranberries... 2 ripe pears 1/2 C Apple juice 1/4 C coconut sugar 1/4 tsp ground allspice Peel, core and dice pears. Put all ingredients into a medium pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low to allow to simmer. Stir and mash as ingredients cook down and become thick! Serve warm or place in refrigerator to cool and serve cold . . #homemadefood #holisticnutrition #plantbasedfood #plantbasedrecipes #holistichealth #nutritionistyyj #healthyliving
