IMPORTANT NOTICE: Yesterday, TGUC made the difficult decision to suspend all in-person gatherings, including Sunday worship, the Community Breakfast, Gracie’s T...hrift Shop and Graceful Noise coffeehouse, effective immediately. The building and church office are now closed to the public until further notice. Although we will miss offering a physical hub of hospitality and community-building for the time being, the safety and welfare of our community and neighbours must be our first priority. At times such as this, it’s crucial that we stay connected as a community! We hope to stay connected with all of you so please stay in touch - our email and phone messages will be checked and responded to daily, and we’ll be working on some innovative ways to enhance our ability to connect and build community online and through social media. Stay tuned, and for now, we pray that you are all well and finding ways to nurture body, mind and spirit in these unsettling and unpredictable times. Gracie's is fundraising for scholarships for Sir Charles Tupper 2020 graduating students. Last year we managed to raise enough to award two $500 scholarships. Let's meet that total again! Tomorrow, March 14th, Gracie's will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a $1-a-piece sale on clothing. Coats, boots and baskets will be 50% off and this will be a last chance to get 50% off fabric - our new stock will be coming out next sale. We have a Lee Valley garden bench for $10 and so...me nice small pieces of furniture - wooden chairs at $4 piece and a vintage school desk-chair for $25, plus a solid-wood carved mirror with doors for $30. In view of the present health crisis, we ask that you stay home if you are feeling at all unwell. Coffee will still be served but at the serving hatch by a volunteer.Lets keep our shoppers and volunteers healthy! Hope to see you there. See more

Gracies is helping Cedar Cottage fill Welcome baskets for residents of some new modular housing near Nanaimo Station. They are asking for donations of regular sized shampoo, body wash, etc. If you would like to bring something in to Gracies or drop it off at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood house at 23rd and Victoria Drive - it would help them reach there goal of 58 baskets, Thank you!

WE ARE HAVING A LEAP YEAR BAG SALE!! FILL A PURPLE BAG WITH CLOTHING FOR $5 Come in and celebrate the first Feb 29th sale at Gracie's! This Saturday, 10am-2pm. We have a large collection of post war Made in Japan collectibles. It's been in an attic for 50 years - we even have flamingoes! New cookbook donation will be arriving too. Lots of other great items and our usual fabric, books, vinyl and some new art work.... Coffee will be on and a warm welcome too. See you there! All proceeds will be donated locally or globally as needed. See more
