DOUBLE WHEAT RELEASE! When we released a small batch of Free Spirit Wheat Beer with Mango back in Feb, it didn't last long. We knew we wanted to brew it again and make some tweaks to the recipe. This time around, we split the batch to create two versions of Free Sprit one with mango, chamomile and lemon, and one with strawberry and banana!Alex has dialed in our wheat beers, and we’re pumped for you to try our two new versions of Free Spirit. We brewed these beers with o...ur patio launch in mind (before the lockdown), because we know just how much you all love our wheat beers on the patio! So, we highly recommend you to buy some of these and enjoy them on your own patio, or on a patch of grass somewhere! Free Spirit Mangoand Free Spirit Strawberry Banana are available for purchase online right now, and they’ll be available in store starting on Wednesday at noon. We’re offeringlocal delivery again this week in Burlington, Hamilton, Ancaster and Dundas on Friday, May 7th. Delivery is free for orders over $30 (before HST) using the discount code ‘FREEDELIVERY’. Happy Friday, friends! We’re shaking things up this week for Fromage Friday, and instead of an IGTV video, we're reposting this stunning cheese board that Hannah created via her cheese biz, @thethirstydoe! It's like a work of art! You can create your own version of this cheese board to celebrate Mother’s Day, a birthday, or to make any day feel special. @saltspring_island_cheese Flower Chèvre from @mickey_mcguires_cheese Sweet Dreams Wheat Beer... Spring is a particularly special time for goat cheese production here in Ontario and Canada. This fresh chèvre from Salt Spring Island Cheese in BC is truly a treat and Hannah made it the star of this lovely cheese board. A fresh chèvre tends to be light and tangy, so when pairing, choose flavours that will complement and contrast such as tangy citrus and berries, as well as sweeter elements, like this insanely delicious white chocolate bark with raspberries and passion fruit from @_detourcafe. Hannah chose to pair this lovely chèvre with Sweet Dreams, our Wheat Beer with white tea, ginger, lemon zest and peach. The zippy spice of the ginger and bitterness of the tea add another level of brightness and depth to the floral cheese while the sweetness from the juicy peach plays in contrast to the tangy fresh chèvre. For more cheese content, head over to @thethirstydoe to hang with Hannah!

Popping in with a quick reminder to keep your group tight this weekend, as we're limiting it to 4 people per table on the patio. Your group should include members of your household or people who are essential to maintaining physical and mental health, such as caregivers or social supports to someone who lives alone. Thank you for respecting these new restrictions, and for helping us keep our community safe. Our patio and retail shop are open from 12-8pm! We have 8 in cans to ...take home and we’re fully stocked with new merch, so swing by to take a peek by @pureandlovelyphotography [Image description: A view of the patio looking out from the front door. There are two pink picnic tables, and heaters hanging on a black frame over the tables. Since Hamilton is now under tighter COVID restrictions, we’re here to let you know about the changes that we’re making to keep our guests and team safe at Grain&Grit. Our patio and retail shop remain open, please note that we still do not have indoor seating at this time. Group size on the patio is restricted to 4 people per table (please keep it to your household members or people who are essential to maintaining physical and mental health, such as caregivers or social su...pports to someone who lives alone). All guests who visit the patio will be required to fill out our online contract tracing and COVID screening questionnaire. Simply scan the QR code or visit the link provided at the host stand to complete the questionnaire on your phone. We’re happy to fill the form out for you if you’re not able. To purchase beer to-go, head into the brewery and we’ll take your order at the bar. Only 3 people are permitted in the building for retail at one time. Guests are required to wear a mask inside the brewery at all times. We also ask that you wear a mask outside as you approach our host if you’d like to be seated on the patio, and only remove your mask once you are seated. If you’re mask exempt and would like to purchase beer to-go, please do not enter the building. Please wait at the host stand outside and we’ll happily serve you there. If you don't want to come in to grab your beer to-go, we’ll bring it out to you! Order your beer online, and select ‘Brewery Pick-up’ at checkout. When you arrive, pull around the back of the building (through the CarStar parking lot), and call us at 905-769-1320 with your order number. Pop your trunk, and we’ll bring your order out to you! If you made it through our long post, thank you. If not, that’s cool and we’ll tell you everything you need to know when you visit. We feel like we’re changing things on a weekly basis, so if you have questions, please send us an email, DM or a give us a good old fashioned phone call. Stay safe out there, friends by @pureandlovelyphotography [Image description is in the alt text because this post it too long to fit more characters ]

We’re making some changes around here as the weather turns colder this week! We've scaled back the Beergarden to a smaller setup under our new heaters, the retail shop will move inside and we have new hours. There will be no seating indoors for the winter, and we will continue to serve you outside on our patio. Here are all the important things you need to know about our new setup: Tables will be walk-in only (no reservations) We will continue to do table service, so plea...se wait outside at the host stand for a table and we will seat you We have heaters, but the seating is not covered. The heaters take the edge off, but if it's cold outside, please come prepared with lots of layers! To purchase beer to-go, please enter the building through the front door and order at the bar. You must wear a mask, and only three people will be permitted in the building for retail at one time. Please stand on our floor markings outside to wait if the building is full. New hours for November: WEDS4-8pm THURS12-8pm FRI12-8pm SAT12-8pm SUN12-6pm Closed Mon & Tues Our hours will change again for the holiday season in December, so stay tuned for that. Thank you all for accepting the frequent changes around here and going with the flow! We’re make these changes to adapt to a new season and the challenges that it brings. Since this is all new to us, we’re figuring out things as we go along and we appreciate your grace and understanding! This stunning photo is by the talented @ellechicphotography! Huge thanks to her for sharing her work with us and capturing our building so beautifully. [Image description: Our building is photographed from the street during sunset. The building is an old mechanic shop, so it has an industrial vibe. It's painted white, with two large glass bay doors on either side of the building. The building takes up approx 1/3 of the frame, but the sky is the real star of the show. The big sky is coloured in shades of blue, pink and white, and it looks like cotton candy. We really get the best sunsets at Grain&Grit, and this one was no exception.]

STOUTS ARE HERE! You’ve all be patiently waiting for a stout, and today we’re stoked to tell you that we have TWO available this week! We’ve brought back two of your old favourites: BREAKFAST MILK STOUT WITH COFFEE This beer has become a classic around here, and it’s from our opening line-up all the way back in 2017! This is the recipe that ignited Joe's love of homebrewing, and Alex has been fine-tuning and perfecting it with each new batch. Brewed with lactose, chocolate... malts and coffee from @cafedomestiique in Dundas, Breakfast Milk Stout is rich, creamy and full of coffee aroma and flavour with hints of dark chocolate. PLAY THING OATMEAL STOUT WITH CHAI We brewed Play Thing for the first time last year in collaboration with Ren from @beer_diversity. What started as a fun collab with a friend turned into a partnership with a trailblazer for diversity and inclusion in the craft beer industry and beyond. With this beer, we aim to bring attention to the work that Beer.Diversity is doing and to show our dedication to working alongside Ren to make the craft beer industry a welcoming space for everyone. Play Thing has a silky body, with flavours and aromas of Chai spice, cacao and hints of coconut. Breakfast and Play Thing will be available in our retail shop today, or you can order your beer online for brewery pickup or shipping within Ontario! by @pureandlovelyphotography [Image descriptions are in the alt text for each image.]
