It has been a very tough decision but Miles and I have had to pull the plug on GBFOS this year. If you have pre paid we will be giving full refunds. We ran at a loss last year and with only 100 spectators allowed at the track and limited entries to race we cannot gamble on taking a hit again. We guarantee you that 2021 will be an amazing event, we all ready have major sponsors lined up and some fantastic plans to take us to a new level. We apologize for leaving this decision so late but wanted to give it every effort to keep it going right up as far as we could. Thank you to everyone for their patience during these weird times we are in. We are getting a lot of inquiries as to the status of the event so here is where we stand right now. Basically we are still in limbo with the rules as far as a spectator event. Right now we are allowed to hold an event with no spectators and only 4 crew per race vehicle. We are in constant contact with Paul from the track and between himself and us we will be making a final decision in 2 weeks. Our... options are as follows. 1 Continue with the event as planned- A full weekend of racing with all classes and vehicles, CVMG display, vendors, spectators etc. 2. Cancel the event entirely 3. Hold a 1 day 'Track day' on Saturday with limited classes, mostly covering those who supported us last year. The drag strip will be open on Friday evening with a test and tune event and those who want to show up early can pay to try out their 1/4 mile times. We will not be providing any amenities or camping etc with this plan and track time will basically be open lapping with no flag starts or placements. !!!! GBFOS 2020 UPDATE !!!! At this point this is where we at GBFOS are at. We are obviously hoping that we can put a full event on and accommodate as many racing classes as we can. While we wait to see how these ever changing times develop over the next few months, Vic and I really appreciate your patience. ... We are in the fortunate position of being able to continue to plan right up to the event itself. So the plan will undoubtedly change and change and change. Please be patient while we figure out what will be possible, safe and allowable. That said.....if you are a person wishing to race or show or volunteer at The Grand Bend Festival of Speed please let us know by going to GBFOS.ca and filling out the entry form. No $’s required right now. The classes remain Vintage and Classic. So P1,2,3 and 4 plus vintage and modern sidecars and VARAC. Keep hopeful , stay well and let’s see what we can do.
