And next, onto a foal we are all so excited about! Sunshine (Saint Tropez x Labrador) in foal to Lordanos (Landos x Ahorn) Sunshine is an imported Westphalian mare, approved CSHA by Sight Unseen Approval due to her extensive show record all over North America in the hunter ring. Ridden by the great Peter Pletcher and Kelly Farmer, this mare excelled in shows all over, including California, Kentucky, Texas and Wellington. She has produced some quality hunter prospects, and we... are excited to have her in our program. Lordanos is an amazing foundation sire. His successful offspring drew attention to this great stallion. In 2013, Lordanos was named the top jumper's sire in the United States by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). Lordanos' career began by winning nearly 40 competitions for young jumpers. He was successful in 1.40m and 1.50m classes for incredible eleven years. He was successful as the "family horse" because he has won big classes with all three riding Sosaths - Janne, Gerd and Hendrik. He and Janne Sosath-Hahn competed in a puissance class, successfully clearing a wall 2 meters high. Lordanos has an unparalleled character, extraordinary ridability and is an extremely talented show jumper. He has produced a very large number of incredibly successful offspring and he is regarded as one of the greatest sires in the world. After his long sports career, Lordanos retired at the age of 18. Lordanos is a descendent of the famous and high profiled "Ramiro line" 776 and a guarantee for maximal inheritance of performance and talent. The sire of Lordanos is Landos, one of the sons of the impressive stallion Lord. On Landos' dam side, there is the very interesting blood of Calypso I and Capitano. The dam sire Ahorn Z comes from the international show jumpers Almé Z and Heureka Z and has produced many top show jumping horses. In the third generation there is the bloodline of Calypso I, who is the sire of some of the world’s top dressage and show jumping horses. Lordanos' sire, Landos, and his dam, Ashley, both come from the Holstein dam line 776. This line produced top sport horses and the stallions Calvados I and II, Cortino I and II, Captain Incipit, Lord Incipit, Lauritz J, Rossini, Toledo and the famous and important sire Ramiro. Also our former stallion Levisonn is out of the dam line 776. Lordanos is Sire to some of the top jumpers and hunters competing in North America. He has sired: Private Practice, Lordan, Lorielle and many more top hunter, jumper and equitation horses. This cross is sure to produce something spectacular, suited for the hunter or jumper rings. Sunshine had a 2020 filly by Aloha, who is built beautifully and has an amazing head on her shoulders. Contact us for more information. More information

URGENT FEDERAL SUPPORT NEEDED FOR CANADA’S WORKING HORSES Ottawa, ON, May 6, 2020 Equestrian Canada (EC) would like to express its disappointment that the federal announcement on May 5, 2020, of $252M in funding for the agri-food sector did not include desperately needed support for Canada’s working horses.... Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, equine farms across Canada are currently facing unprecedented financial instability. Since all public-facing activities have stopped, many businesses are unable to pay for animal care as their incomes have largely disappeared. EC’s recent national survey indicated there were approximately 46,500 horses and 8,500 equine facilities with less than a month of financial reserves and supplies as of April 6, 2020. Without urgent government support, many equine owners are now or will soon be facing the horrendous decision to offload perfectly healthy, capable animals into a marketplace in which supply far exceeds demand. Working horses are valuable, respected farm assets that require daily care and upkeep, including feeding, cleaning, movement and social connection, said Kristy House, EC Manager of Welfare and Industry. This level of nurturing requires animal care professionals and regular agricultural supplies, and costs upwards of $350 per horse, per month. The current relief options that are accessible to equine facilities dealing with significant lost income while supporting many horses don’t come close to being enough to properly care for the animals. House added, In addition to the uncertainty of horse care, we’re facing sector classification and program eligibility challenges with the federal government. We feel strongly that an opportunity to help our working horses and equine businesses was missed by the current equestrian exclusion from the newly launched AgriRecovery fund. EC has requested an emergency relief fund of $11.5M to $13M to provide COVID-19 pandemic relief and ensure the health and wellbeing of Canada’s working horses. The community is doing all it can to privately raise money for businesses in the greatest need but remains fearful that if help doesn’t come soon, the sector will suffer permanent damage. EC continues to advocate on behalf of the equine sector to the federal government and has launched a website initiative to empower the public to voice their support via direct communications to their local Member of Parliament. Visit www.equestrian.ca/industry/about/covid-19-response to learn more. #funfact the grey at the beginning of the video is Cachette Z, one of our amazing broodmares in foal to Quilot Z for a 2020 foal.

Grand Prix Breeders Equestrian Centre 24.03.2019

For your consideration: In-Utero Foal Cavaletta II (Carvallo BB) x Quilot Z Quilot Z is a 1992 16hh Bay Oldenburg stallion. Quilot was bred in Germany by Paul Schockemohle, he was later sold to Zangersheide. When breeding to Quilot you have the opportunity to tap into performance blood from the international jumping stallion Quick Star, whose sire Galoubet A and dam Stella made a famous internationally performing couple. The products of Quick Star have inherited their quali...ties is demonstrated for example in the mare Stella, who was very successful at international level with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum. Quilot’s dam, Park Avenue is a daughter of PILOT who sired top-class jumpers such as PS Priamos (Ludger Beerbaum), Pirol IV (Lesley McNaught), to mention just a few, out of the Ferdinand daughter Fernanda. Fernanda, combined with Waidmannsdank xx, another fine Thoroughbred, produced Waidmann who has supplied his own share of fine sport horses. Fernanda is also grandam of the Absatz sons Akzent I and II, who have both made a career in breeding. Quilot was successful as an Open Jumper at an early age; for instance, he claimed a 6th place in the 1997 World Championship finals for 5-year-olds under Jos Lansink. Quilot’s offspring have excelled in Show Jumping and Eventing. From Quilot’s first crop the 3-yr-old products Quick Star Z and Quota Z were selected for the Z-Auction at the 2000 World Championships for Young Horses. Cavalletta is an imported Holsteiner mare with a show career up to 1.50 meter in both Europe and in the US. She has taken riders up the levels in both the Jumper and Equitation rings, including a short stint in the hunters. She has retired to our farm, and is ready to produce quality jumper prospects. We are very happy to have her in our program. This will be an excellent Jumper and Equitation prospect. Foal due July 2020. Please inquire for price.

The products of Quick Star have inherited their qualities i...s demonstrated for example in the mare Stella, who was very successful at international level with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum.
