Summer Employment Opportunity for High School Students

Congratulations to GT/TLC's Ms. Beth Johnson for being the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division's Finalist for the 2021 Edwin Parr Award.

The Math 10C students got out of the classroom a few weeks ago to investigate the use of Clinometers to measure the heights of inaccessible objects. Clinometers are tools used in jobs even today, by land surveyors and geologists to measure land formations, as well as in the Forestry industry to measure the heights of trees! Therefore, students were able to get a firsthand look at building their own simple clinometer by hand, and heading outdoors to measure the heights of trees, our school's flag poles, and the height of our school. It was a great opportunity for the students to see the many real world applications of their math classes.

This week Science 8 students created life size visual representations of human organ systems. Students became experts on their designated system, outlining vital structures and their corresponding functions. We also researched diseases/disorders that impacted each system and shared our research with the class through a presentation.
