The Public Legal Information Association of NL is proud to offer our latest province wide virtual legal clinic, the Lockdown Legal Clinic! Whether you want to l...earn more about your rights, have a question about the law, or are going through court processes yourself, this clinic is for you. This clinic is open to everyone in the province and will be held between March 17th - 19th. Daytime and evening time slots are available. Registration is required by March 12th and all appointments will be held over the phone with lawyers. This free legal clinic will provide participants with a 30 minute consultation with a lawyer to receive basic legal advice about their matter. There is no obligation for participants or lawyers to go beyond this 30 minutes. First up, go to www.digitallibrary.nlpl.ca and login with your library card # and PIN (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number) for access to the following: Overdrive (our eLibrary platform), also known as Libby on your device as an app. OverDrive provides a large selection of eBooks & eAudiobooks available for your tablet, phone, computer, etc. OverDrive requires a separate login with a valid library card. Tumblebooks is a collection of interactive eBooks for children ages 0 - 12 that can be used in any web browser. You can set up playlists of read aloud books for kids, and there are books in different languages available. Use PressReader to get same-day access to 6,000+ newspapers and magazines from around the world in multiple languages. Includes The Telegram and many more. Flipster is a collection of digital magazines to download and read on a device or computer. Includes title such as Maclean's, Better Homes and Gardens, Canadian Living, and Saltscapes. CELA, or The Center for Equitable Library Access, provides a collection of digital and physical alternate format materials for Canadians with print disabilities.
