Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year to remind ourselves of the many reasons we have to be grateful. GPPSD takes this moment to thank our parents, ...students, staff, and the community for the excellent start to the school year. The understanding, flexibility, and patience of our entire Division community has been evident and we thank you. Reminder: All Division Schools and Central Office will be closed on Monday, October 12 for Thanksgiving. Have a great long weekend, stay safe, and see you all on Tuesday, October 13! #GPAB #GPPSDThanks #ABEd #GPEd

This year's Friends of the Education Award for Zone one is a special one for Grande Prairie. The Grande Prairie Public School Division, Peace Wapiti Public Scho...ol Division and Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools are thrilled to have presented the annual Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Friends of Education Award presentation to the 3D Children's Charity on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, during the Zone One Friends of Education and Edwin Parr Awards Banquet held in Peace River. #GPPSD Trustee Andre Ouellette presented the award on behalf of the three boards to Darren Foley, Chair of the 3D Children's Charity. The shared nomination was an opportunity for the 3 School Boards to express their gratitude and publicly acknowledge the significant impact the 3D Children's Charity has made to support students in need of medical treatment in our #GPAB community. The annual Friends of Education Award presentation provides an opportunity for each Zone one school division to acknowledge local organizations for their contributions to education.

Greeting parents, guardians and students, As we work towards re-entry, an important area for our Division to be mindful of is the impact that the Coronavirus (C...OVID-19) Pandemic has had, and continues to have on all of us. To help division and school leaders understand the needs of our communities we are asking parents/guardians, and students to complete a short survey on how this pandemic has impacted their lives. The information collected is anonymous and will be used to deepen our understanding of our school communities and help us determine appropriate strategies to support our needs. There are three (3) survey types. The first survey is for parents/guardians, the second one is for students in grades 4 to 8 and the third survey is for students in grades 9 to 12. Each survey is brief and will close on Wednesday, August 26.
